A Chinese influencer, known as Coffee and boasting over a million followers, recently revealed her decision to stop chemotherapy after a six-month battle with rectal cancer. Her announcement, made via social media, has sparked widespread discussion online.

Coffee shared that she underwent nine rounds of chemotherapy following her diagnosis but saw no improvement in her condition. The treatment not only failed to work but also left her body severely weakened. "My body can no longer endure it," she explained. Consequently, she decided to discontinue treatment and accept the course of her illness.

Reflecting on her experience, Coffee admitted she had previously overlooked health issues due to a lack of symptoms and a sense of invincibility tied to her youth. Now, she urges young people to prioritize their health and undergo regular screenings for rectal cancer. "Don’t take your body for granted," she advised her followers.

Coffee's decision has prompted varied reactions online. Many netizens expressed admiration for her courage and acceptance of life’s impermanence. One commenter noted, “Her resolve is extraordinary. Not many people can face mortality with such composure and grace.”

Others, however, questioned her choice to abandon chemotherapy. “Why give up? Isn’t life worth fighting for, even if it means enduring hardship?” one user asked. Another netizen raised thought-provoking questions: “Why is she unafraid of death? What gives her the strength to make such a decisive choice?”

Supporters highlighted the grueling toll chemotherapy takes on patients. “She has likely endured unimaginable physical and emotional pain. Opting for quality of life over quantity is a personal decision we must respect,” one person wrote.
