At 73, renowned Chinese director Zhang Jizhong is proving that age is just a number.

Recently, he shared a vlog detailing his daily routine, leaving netizens both amazed and envious of his boundless energy.

Zhang, often calling himself a "70-year-old teenager," offers a glimpse into his vibrant lifestyle, juggling his demanding career and family responsibilities while embracing life with his third wife, 42-year-old Du Xinglin, and their growing family.

Zhang's day begins at 5 a.m. with morning exercises, where he incorporates foot massages using acupressure boards, demonstrating remarkable discipline. By 5:20, he's making tea for his wife, a habit they both enjoy before he moves on to meditation.

His busy schedule doesn't stop there. By 7 a.m., Zhang supports his wife's livestreaming sessions, showing his unwavering dedication to her needs. At noon, he prepares meals for Du, who is still in postpartum recovery following the recent birth of their third child, affectionately nicknamed “Little Dragon Pearl.”

Zhang heads to work in the afternoon, where he directs on-set activities, supervises aerial shots, and collaborates with his production team. Even after an intense day, he returns home by 10:30 p.m., spending time with his wife and children before soaking his feet and heading to bed. Despite sleeping for less than six hours, Zhang remains full of vigor, attributing his high energy levels to "efficient sleep and an unrestricted mindset."

Zhang's marriage to Du Xinglin has drawn considerable public attention, not only for their 31-year age gap but also for their unconventional lifestyle. Du, a former assistant and a doctoral graduate in French intellectual property law, married Zhang in 2017 when he was 66. Their relationship has weathered skepticism, but the couple continues to defy critics with their affectionate displays on social media and unwavering commitment to their family.

The couple now has four children, and Zhang credits Du for managing his health and supporting his demanding career. He once remarked, "I am lucky to have my wife’s meticulous care; she keeps me strong despite my intense schedule."

Life hasn’t always been smooth sailing for the couple. Du’s adventurous streak has seen Zhang participating in various extreme sports, such as skydiving and surfing, which occasionally led to accidents. From falling off a horse to fainting during a late-night live-streaming session, Zhang’s resilience has been put to the test. Yet, he continues to bounce back with a positive attitude, earning the admiration of fans and the nickname "the indomitable Zhang."

Zhang Jizhong is best known for directing iconic adaptations of Jin Yong’s martial arts novels, including The Legend of the Condor Heroes and Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils. His unique visual style and memorable soundtracks have left a lasting imprint on Chinese television.

Despite his professional achievements, Zhang’s personal life has often overshadowed his career. He was previously married twice, with each spouse playing a significant role in different stages of his journey. However, his third marriage to Du Xinglin has brought the most attention, not only for their age difference but also for Zhang’s willingness to take on fatherhood again in his 70s.

Zhang’s wife, Du, has been vocal in defending their relationship, often addressing rumors and criticisms directly. In one of her recent statements, she asked, “Who else but my husband has the strength and ability to raise four children with me?”
