Guardians of the Mind: How Parents Influence Children's Mental Health
The Event
In today’s world of intensifying competition and stress, children’s psychological well-being has become an essential topic. Many parents find themselves struggling to understand and support their child’s emotional and mental development. Do any of the following questions resonate with you:
Why do children become so attached to their phones?
What leads to rebellious behaviors in kids?
Why do some children lack self-confidence despite constant praise?
How does a child’s family background shape their emotional well-being?
Why do children seem unhappy even with improved living conditions?
Does fulfilling all a child’s desires equate to providing genuine emotional support?
...
In this event, Li Zhou, Professor of Psychology at Renmin University of China and the main translator of the Chinese version of Peer Counseling: Skills and Perspectives—a book co-authored by former Yale University President Peter Salovey—will explore answers to these questions. Through psychological theories and case studies, she will guide parents in understanding the underlying emotional needs of children and provide practical insights on how to support their healthy development.
