01 Race Date and Venue

Time:October 19, 2024 (Saturday)

Venue:Jinshan City Beach, Shanghai

(一)、Race setting

(二)、Pre-race Check-In

All participants must arrive in the pre-race check-in area 20 minutes before the start time of their respective categories. Do not leave after checking in. If you fail to participate due to late arrival for check-in or leaving after check-in, the consequences are at your own risk.

(三)、Swim

1、The swim course is an out-and-back style, participants will start from the City Beach and loop around the buoys corresponding to their category's color before returning.

2、Swim will start in batches, with a staggered start according to participant numbers, maintaining a 5-second interval between each start. Specific details will be based on the instructions given by the referees on site.

(四)、Run

1、Participants must wear their race numbers properly visible throughout the run segment.

2、Runners must wear running shoes during the run segment.

3、Parents are requested not to enter the run course without permission to avoid affecting the athletes' performance and to ensure safety.

(五)、Transition Area

1、 After completing check-in and receiving your timing chip, please put all your necessary transition equipment for the race into the transition area in advance, and find the equipment basket corresponding to your race number within the transition area, placing all equipment inside. If the race equipment is not placed in the basket as specified, the transition area referee has the authority to impose penalties.

2、One parent is allowed to enter the transition area to assist our participants with changing clothes, etc., but please do not disrupt the normal order within the transition area, otherwise, the staff have the authority to ask you to leave.




06 Atheletes check-in & race pack pickup

1、Time & Location

Time: 10:00-13:00, October 19

Location: Qijiadun Rd. Parking Lot, Jinshan City Beach

Please collect your race pack on time; late collection will not be accommodated.

2、Notes for race pack collecting

Athletes must be accompanied by a guardian, bring their valid identification used when registration, and arrive at the designated location within the specified time. Then follow the on-site instructions to collect the race packet and sign a liability waiver.

3、List of materials in race pack

Participants are advised to verify the quantity and type of materials provided. Please ensure their safekeeping, as loss or misplacement may impede your ability to participate in the event as intended.

The race bracelet serves as an essential identifier for participants in the event. Once fastened, it must not be tampered with or removed until the conclusion of the event; failure to comply may result in the participant's inability to engage in event activities。

4、Entry number

Contestants please scan the QR code below to get the entry number by entering phone number or identification number.

07Race Bib, Body Mark and Timing Chip

1、Athletes have to wear the race bib in a correct way: during the run leg is placed at the front waist position.




2、Athletes will all receive two Body Marks with their race number, which should be placed on the outside of both left and right upper arms or legs.




3、We utilize a standard triathlon timing chip for electronic timing. Participants will receive them during the check-in and race pack collection. Triathletes have to tie the timing chip to your ankle, otherwise you will lose race result.

4、Timing chips must be returned after the race is completed.

5、Staff will check that each participant's timing chip is properly attached during the start and at the transitions.

08  Rules & Regulations

I. General Principles

1. To foster a fair competition environment and promote equality and sportsmanship.

2. To encourage participants to utilize their creativity and skills without imposing undue restrictions.

3. To penalize participants who seek or intend to seek an unfair advantage.

II. Participant Code of Conduct

1. Maintain good sportsmanship at all times.

2. Register for the competition under your real name; impersonation is strictly prohibited. Violators will be disqualified. Participants who register under false names will be responsible for any insurance claims arising from the misrepresentation.

3. Be responsible for your own safety and that of others.

4. Know and understand all competition rules, including those mentioned in the event handbook and at the pre-event briefing.

5. Obey traffic rules and the instructions of technical officials (referees).

6. Show respect and courtesy to technical officials, staff, volunteers, spectators, the public, and other participants.

7. Comply with laws and local regulations. Any form of political or religious demonstration and racial discrimination is prohibited. Violations may result in disqualification.

8. Refrain from using offensive language in any public forums related to the event, including WeChat groups and at the event site.

9. Accept no external assistance during the competition, except from event referees and staff.

10. Littering or discarding equipment during the competition is strictly prohibited, except at designated supply points or trash disposal areas. Deliberate or accidental littering may result in time penalties or disqualification.

11. Gaining or attempting to gain an unfair competitive advantage through external vehicles or equipment is strictly prohibited.

12. Participants must strictly follow the race course. It is the participant's responsibility to be familiar with the course and to complete it in its entirety. Deviation from the course may result in disqualification. If a participant must temporarily leave the course, they must rejoin at the same location to continue.

13. Indecent exposure and nudity during the competition are strictly prohibited and may result in disqualification.

III. Penalties

1. Any violation of the competition rules may result in penalties to the participant, including warnings, time penalties, disqualification, or suspension.

2. Referees will notify participants of penalties through a combination of colored cards and verbal instructions. The meaning of the cards and their corresponding penalties are as follows:

Yellow card: Warning (Minor violation with a 30-second time penalty)

Red card: Disqualification

3. Severe violations of the competition rules may lead to disqualification, as determined by the chief referee.

4. During the event, referees may, at their discretion, penalize or disqualify participants who gain an unfair advantage or create dangerous situations, whether intentional or unintentional.

IV. Swimming Rules

1. Participants may use any swimming style, tread water, or float to complete the swim.

2. A life buoy (sausage) must be worn throughout the swim.

3. Participants must prepare in the designated swim start area under the guidance of referees and staff before the start of the race.

4. Before entering the swim start area, participants must wear the official swim caps, race bracelets, and timing chips provided by the organizers; prepare your own swimsuits and goggles (triathlon suits are recommended).

5. Novice swimmers may use floatation devices (self-provided), but will not be eligible for rankings.

6. Parents are not allowed to enter the water to interfere with the competition.

7. The organizing committee has the right to require participants to remove jewelry or other accessories deemed harmful during the competition.

8. Event officials and medical staff reserve the right to disqualify participants based on their health conditions.

V. Running Rules

1. Athletes must complete the run segment alone, either running or walking, without external assistance (parents should not drag participants along the course).

2. Parents should review the event handbook with their children to understand the running course. If a participant takes a wrong turn, they must accept the time loss and return to the correct course to finish the race.

3. The running segment results will be based on the timing chip. If the chip fails and the result is missing, the chief referee will make the final decision on the race result.

4. Athletes must wear the race-provided bib number on the front of their body and ensure it is visible throughout the run.

5. Athletes are prohibited from littering on the course. Dispose of trash at designated areas in supply stations or along the public trash bins on the course.

6. If a participant feels unwell or is deemed unfit to continue by the course medical officer, parents and participants must comply with the medical officer's advice and arrangements.

7. If a participant withdraws from the race for any reason, parents must inform the staff or referees.

VI. Transition Area Rules

1. In the transition area, participants must place all competition items into the corresponding bags (please attach a number sticker to the transition bag) and then place them into the equipment bins corresponding to their participant number to prevent others from accidentally taking them.

2. Participants are allowed to enter and exit the transition area only during the official times published by the event, with their race bib, body mark, and race bracelet.

3. Athletes within the transition area must not impede other athletes' progress.

4. Athletes within the transition area are prohibited from using another athlete's equipment.

5. Athletes are not allowed to linger in the transition area aisles.

09  Race result & Photos

1、After completing the event,athletes can check their race result from this code immediately.

2、Athletes can check the results and download the certificates through the official WeChat account "STC大铁" using bib numbers.

3、During the event, we have professional photographers to capture exciting moments for participants. It is advisable for participants to manage your facial expressions accordingly.

10  Awards Ceremony and Result Protest

After finishing the race, please pay attention to listen to the results broadcast at the main stage. If you have any questions about the results, you can scan the code below, and please make sure to provide relevant evidence when appealing, the speculative protest will be ignored.

11  Race insurance

The organizing committee provides accidental insurance for every athlete. Please note that the organizing committee will not be responsible for any losses incurred due to incorrect or inaccurate information filled out during the registration, resulting in the inability to successfully purchase insurance, or private race slot transfer resulting in non-participation on race day. Everyone needs to be aware of the risks of the race, and we sincerely hope that each athlete will enjoy the race and finish safely.

12  Rescue force and safety

The event provides full water coverage with powerboats and other rescue facilities for emergency assistance to participants. If a participant requires help, they can signal by waving one or both hands (or removing their swim cap). In case of discomfort or any unexpected situation during the swim, the rescue team has the authority to immediately halt the participant's race. The organizing committee advises participants to continuously monitor their physical and mental condition. If any discomfort arises, please seek help from volunteers, staff, or medical personnel promptly and act within your limits to prevent more serious personal injuries.

13 Race “Circuit Breaker” Mechanism

1. In the event of extreme heat, extreme cold, severe drought, heavy precipitation, strong convection, or other such weather conditions being forecast before the race or on the day of the event, the event organizing committee may, after assessment, trigger a "Circuit Breaker" mechanism to decide to reduce the race distance, postpone the event, or cancel the event.

2. In the event of natural disasters, safety accidents, public health incidents, social security incidents, or other emergencies directly or indirectly related to the event, the event organizing committee may, after assessment, trigger a "Circuit Breaker" mechanism to decide to reduce the race distance, postpone the event, or cancel the event. If the "Circuit Breaker" mechanism is activated due to the aforementioned force majeure, participants should comply with the arrangements made by the organizing committee on site and follow up with their subsequent handling methods. The organizing committee is not required to refund fees or assume any legal liability.
