About Swissnex
Swissnex in China strengthens and advances Sino-Swiss collaboration in the fields of education, research and innovation. We create opportunities for Swiss universities, researchers, startups and corporates to expand their reach and to build meaningful partnerships in China. Our activities include:
Working with universities and research institutions on events, partnerships and network-building. Accelerating entrepreneurs and assisting startups in entering the Chinese market. Advising corporations, non-profits and international organizations on innovation trends and best practices in China. Collaborating with artists and designers on innovative projects at the intersection of art and science. Supporting innovators and thought leaders to expand their presence in China.
Position Summary
Main Responsibilities
Deliver and co-curate superior services to new and existing clients.
Foster and develop networks and relationships in the Swiss and Chinese “innovation economies” with a focus on entrepreneurship, science & technology and innovation. Research and report on innovation-related topics of interest to Swissnex and its stakeholders. Facilitate knowledge exchange between Switzerland and China. Translate acquired knowledge into expertise to strengthen Swissnex’ services, relevance and visibility. Assist Swiss entrepreneurs and accelerate Swiss startups interested in China with targeted programs and services. Build and grow relationships with Swiss corporations to engage in services like scouting, partnership development and more. Manage a team of currently 2 FTEs. Deputize on a very regular basis for the CEO and collaborate closely with the CEO on the overall continuous, strategic development of Swissnex in China.
Requirements
Team player with a high sense of responsibility, curiosity and interest for a wide range of topics. Entrepreneurial mindset, forward-thinking, flexible and self-starter.
Knowledge of, and networks in the Swiss and Chinese startup and innovation ecosystems.
Strong organizational skills with a proactive, hands-on and pragmatic attitude. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
Networker with the ability to thrive in an international, multicultural and interdisciplinary environment and make contacts with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, positions, ranks and responsibilities.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English and at least one Swiss national language. Knowledge of Chinese is an asset.
Ability to work outside regular office hours when needed, mainly for events, visiting groups and travel.
MA/MS degree with 2-6 years of experience in fields related to entrepreneurship and innovation.
