一、设计理念:
1. 本文人物:主角:Tex and I ,
配角:Dad (第二段还可能添加Mom 但一般不建议增加人物) ( Dad 的作用是鼓励Tex and I 自己想出Plan B, 而不是爸爸给出Plan B 。)
2. 原文故事简介:Dad 带Tex and I 去一家南瓜农场参加南瓜灯设计party, 但意想不到的是抵达农场时看到的南瓜都不是完好的有瑕疵的南瓜 而且南瓜农场竟然关闭了。
3. 本文续写思路:
①结合所给的两个段首句:推知第一段内容为: Tex and I 得知农场关闭,失望沮丧。父亲提议我们想出Plan B. 考生要设计plan B 的内容,是利用现有的南瓜 或者是到附近的超市去买南瓜。然后驱车回家,期待第二天家里举办的南瓜灯设计大会。
②结合第二段首句,推知第二段先描写Tex and I 急切的心情—早饭过后立马开始动工。重在描写一家人一起制作南瓜灯的过程(画图,切南瓜顶,掏空南瓜,然后雕刻);最终的展示成品,结合万圣节的装饰特点,画龙点睛一下。
二、教学过程

Main roles: Tex and I innocent cheerful creative
Minor role: Dad thoughtful loving
Step2: Analyze the plot of the story
① What was Plan B?
② How did the brothers make jack-o”- lanterns?
Step4: Design plots for each paragraph
Para1: That's when I noticed the Pumpkin Patch Closed sign.
Link1: How did Tex and I feel? What did we do?
Body: What did Dad do? What was our plan B?
Link2: After carrying out Plan B, where did we go? How did Tex and I feel?
Para2: Finally came our own jack-o'-lantern design party the next day.
