A video of a woman with leg disabilities working out at a gym in Ningxia, has sparked controversy and debate online. The video, posted by Ms. Ma, who lost both her lower legs in an accident at age seven, shows her exercising despite her disability.

Ms. Ma has not let her disability define her life. Through hard work, she excelled academically, became an accountant, and maintains a positive outlook on life. She regularly visits the gym and shares her experiences on social media.

However, her recent workout video attracted cruel comments from some netizens. One user wrote, "What's the point of exercising when you're like that? It's ridiculous!" Another comment was even more offensive: "Only able-bodied people have meaningful lives. Disabled people might try to live, but I think it's pointless. If you don't have a complete body, what's the point of living? Working out with incomplete limbs is just self-deception."

Ms. Ma was deeply hurt by these comments. She responded, "Pretending it doesn't matter, but countless moments are piercing me. If this is the case, what's the point of everyone's efforts to live? Should we just stay in dark corners and give up? One sentence negates all of someone's efforts."

She added, "The accident didn't kill me, school bullying didn't kill me, and I won't bow down to such people. I will defend my dignity to the death."

Ms. Ma expressed her confusion and pain at the cruel comments: "I don't understand and can't understand. Why use such vicious language to attack me? This is not just discriminating against and insulting me, but discriminating against an entire vulnerable group. The internet is not a lawless place, and I hope the relevant authorities can seek justice for me."

The incident has sparked a heated debate online, with many netizens coming to Ms. Ma's defense:

"Who says disabled people can't exercise? This woman's spirit is admirable!"

"Those making such cruel comments are the ones with a disability – a moral disability."

"Everyone has the right to pursue health and happiness, regardless of physical condition."

"The true disability is in the minds of those who can't see beyond physical appearances."
