2024年度盘上海艺术家驻地项目「鸡同鸭讲 Bridging Babel」即将开启。今年，我们与歌德开放空间携手，与不同语言身份的艺术家一起，探索如何在鸡同鸭讲的多语言世界里“跨越巴别塔”。

PAN Shanghai is proud to present our 2024 flash arts residency, 「鸡同鸭讲 Bridging Babel」. This year, we're teaming up with the Goethe Open Space to connect with artists from diverse language backgrounds. Together, we'll explore how to bridge the babel and bring people closer in our multilingual world. 

本次招募，我们收到了众多优秀的国内国际申请者。今天将介绍的2024年入选驻地艺术家共有12位，他们背景各异，涵盖写作、绘画、装置、新媒体、数字艺术、舞蹈、戏剧、音乐、行为艺术等艺术领域。他们使用和关心的语言及方言包括：汉语、粤语、赣语、英语、德语、法语、西班牙语、韩语、阿拉伯语、孟加拉语等，以及手语和盲文。驻地期间，艺术家将接受挑战，与不同语言使用者合作，突破自己惯常的工作模式。

Our 2024 cohort of resident artists are chosen from an extremely competitive pool of Chinese and international applicants. The twelve residents come from a range of artistic backgrounds, from writing to painting, installations, new media, digital arts, dance, theater, music, and performance art. They bring a rich tapestry of languages and dialects including Chinese, Cantonese, Gan, English, German, French, Spanish, Korean, Arabic, Bengali, as well as sign language and Braille. Throughout their residency, they will be challenged to collaborate with users of different languages, pushing the boundaries of their usual creative practices.

伊曼，IMFA，2023年获得中国美术学院林风眠青铜奖。伊曼的作品利用具有个人意义的现成材料探索对立面与二元论。她曾在挪威的Praksis和奥斯陆和平研究所驻留。2022年初，伊曼获得了Artswave资助，在辛辛那提艺术博物馆与巴勒斯坦女性和酷儿艺术家策划展览。

Iman Jabrah, IMFA, China Academy of Art 2023 winning the Lin FengMian Bronze award. Iman's work explores dichotomies using found materials with imbued personal meaning. Iman was in residence at Praksis and the Peace Research Institute of Oslo, Norway. In early 2022, Iman received the Artswave grant, curating an exhibition at the Cincinnati Art Museum with Palestinian women and queer artists.

Ishraki是一位跨学科研究者，运用具身表现、概念实验和社区参与来促进哲学探究。最近的项目如“探究的诗学：如何与困境共处”，“细菌许可”和“感官增强术”展示了艺术与科学的交融创作方法，游走于已知和未知之间的奇妙空间。Ishraki持有麻省理工学院的艺术、文化和科技硕士学位。

Ishraki is a transdisciplinary researcher who uses embodied performances, conceptual experiments, and community engagement to facilitate philosophical inquiries. Recent projects like "Poetics of Inquiry: How to Stay with Trouble," "Bacterial Consent," and "Sensory Augmentation" exemplify an art-science collaborative approach, navigating the curious space between the known and the unknown. Ishraki holds a Master of Science in Art, Culture, and Technology from MIT.

Jared Mimm是一位来自美国的概念行为艺术家。他的艺术作品从居住在大都市城市丛林的背景中审视日常生活中的社会系统。他经常探究的主题涉及身体、非语言交流、仪式和亲密关系。「合作」在Jared的艺术实践中扮演着重要角色，因此他经常与合作伙伴或团队共创开发项目。

Jared Mimm is an American conceptual performance artist. His art examines social systems from everyday life, within the context of living in the urban jungle of a megacity. Reoccurring themes he explores deal with the body, nonverbal communication, ritual, and intimacy. Collaboration plays an important role in Jared's art practice, so he often develops projects with partners or a team.

蒋纯，留法艺术家，作品涉油画、摄影、装置等，并在法国、比利时、日本和国内有展出。她的艺术语言在多语境中混杂着生活轨迹着墨。

Jiang Chun is a Chinese artist who studied in France for 5 years. Her art works span across various mediums, including oil painting, photography, installations, etc. Her works have been exhibited in France, Belgium, Japan and China, using artistic language to have a conversation with her life trajectory in multiple contexts.

戏剧编剧，写作者，咖啡师。关注人与人之间的真实连接，思考艺术在其中的介质作用。过往创作多为剧场作品，近期探索语言文字的广阔可能性，以及跨媒介创作的自由表达。

Playwright, writer, barista. Focused on the real connection between people, reflecting on the role of art as a medium. Past works mainly consist of theatre pieces, recently exploring the extensive possibilities of language and text, as well as the freedom of expression in cross-media creation.

Melissa Gallego-Quiroz是一位来自哥伦比亚的艺术家，现居上海，上海大学上海美术学院在读设计专业博士生。Melissa有着超过15年的艺术集体合作和个人创作经验，作品获艺术基金奖励。她致力于探索氛围大气和感知现象学，并在作品中运用不同材料，来探讨光线、空间和意识。

Melissa Gallego-Quiroz is a Colombian artist living in Shanghai, a PhD candidate in Design at the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts at Shanghai University. With more than 15 years of experience working with different art collectives and creating her own path, her works have been awarded artistic funds. She reflects on atmospheres and phenomenology of perception and uses different materials for her art, mainly pondering light, space, consciousness.

聋人女性、首席舞者、舞蹈老师、手语老师……作为一名聋人，从综合大学上海大学艺术设计本科毕业。作为一名舞者，曾以上海残疾人艺术团首席舞者登上世界各地剧场的舞台。现在是一名手语老师、舞蹈老师，一直在探索跨人群、跨语言的表达方式。

Deaf woman, chief dancer, dance teacher, sign language teacher. Graduated from Shanghai University with a Bachelor's Degree in Art Design, previously served as the chief dancer in the Shanghai Disabled Art Troupe. Currently working as a sign language and dance teacher, exploring expressions across different groups and languages.

现工作生活于上海，从小接受绘画训练，主要媒介包括纸本绘画，油画，摄影和综合材料。近年来的作品主要探索新旧脚本亲密关系之间的变化，以及当代生活下两性差异和平等。她还关注人们的情绪状态以及权力流动。

Una Yan works and lives in Shanghai. Born into a family with a background in painting, she started learning to draw at a very young age. Her primary mediums include drawing, painting, and photography. Her works in recent years have explored the changes in intimate relationships between old and new scripts, as well as the dynamics of gender differences and equality. She also focus on people's emotional states, and power dynamics within human beings.

Wen是一位驻上海的跨学科艺术家。运用水泥作为工业媒介，弥合中国当代封建主义和资本主义之间的鸿沟。她的实践立足于语言、建筑和身份的交叉点。主要关注的话题包括性别、可持续性、社会界限、公平和正义。她还创作表演艺术和互动装置。

Wen is an interdisciplinary artist based in Shanghai. She utilizes cement as an industrial vehicle to flatten the hiatus between feudalism and capitalism in the contemporary Chinese context. Her practice resides in the intersection of language, architecture, and identity. Main topics include gender, sustainability, social boundaries, equity, and justice. She also produces performance art and interactive installations.

小白能Bi-NON是现居上海的音乐人和写作者。早期以采样拼贴、无输入反馈及接触式麦克制造声响，2015年以“小白能”为代号开始其创作计划，涉及声音、文本及行动。现正将听觉转向解构主义和非常规打击乐，意图用音乐探索无意识与具身性、记忆与阈值空间的相互影响。

Bi-NON is a musician and writer living in Shanghai. In their early days, they used sampling collages, no-input feedback, and contact mics to produce sound. In 2015, they started creating art under the code name "Bi-NON", involving sound, text and action performance. They now turn their listening towards deconstructionism and unconventional percussion, using music to explore the interplay between the unconscious and embodiment, memory and liminal space.

戏剧编剧，导演。毕业于重庆大学德语系和上海戏剧学院戏文系。近期作品多关注于女性，视障人士及性少数群体。作品：《刍狗》《人间巴别塔图》《招娣的名字》等。

Playwright, director. Graduated from the German Department of Chongqing University and the Department of Drama Literature of Shanghai Theatre Academy. Recent works focus on women, visually impaired individuals, and sexual minorities. Works: "INSIGNIFICANT" "The Drawing of Earthly Babel" "The Name of Zhaodi."

张灯，文字和剧场工作者，从哲学向戏剧跨界，与曹克非、庄稼昀和周念念在柏林共同创立表演团体“Nomadic Minutes/游牧分钟”，并致力于德语当代戏剧的译介工作。

Zhang Deng, a wordsmith and theatre practitioner, crosses over from philosophy into theatre, co-founded the performance group “Nomadic Minutes” in Berlin with Cao Kefei, Zhuang Jiayun, and Zhou Niannian, and is dedicated to introducing contemporary German dramas.

自由职业戏剧人，专注于剧场内外的戏剧创作、设计和技术，倡导跨文化交流、文化融合与人性共情。参与创作的项目大到北京环球影城、小到乡村戏剧节，她始终致力于用戏剧与艺术推动理解与探索。

Celia Chen is a freelance theatre maker, focusing on intercultural projects promoting cultural exchange and universal understanding through her work as a lighting designer, producer, and facilitator. She has worked on projects of all contexts and sizes ranging from Universal Beijing Resort to rural village theatre programs. 

美籍埃及裔戏剧工作者、写作者、音乐人及艺术制作人，尤其热衷于跨文化和多语言作品。她是盘上海的联合创始人，过去9年曾在中国制作/导演多部/场戏剧作品和艺术活动。她毕业于上海戏剧学院和美国达特摩斯学院。

Lelia TahaBurt is an Egyptian-American theatre artist, writer, musician, and arts producer who is passionate about intercultural and multilingual work. A founding member of PAN Shanghai, she has also been producing and directing arts events in China for the past 9 years. She graduated from the Shanghai Theatre Academy and Dartmouth College.

毕业于伦敦大学学院，创意产业研究者、艺术制作人，盘上海的联合创始人之一，曾供职于英国文化教育协会。专注于文化与艺术融入社会发展的研究、生产与传播，关注文化遗产与当代艺术的碰撞，支持国际文化交流。

Graduated from University College London, Yunzhen is a researcher in the creative industries and an art producer. She is one of the co-founders of PAN Shanghai and has formerly worked at the British Council. She focuses on researching, producing, and promoting the integration of culture and art into social development. Yunzhen is particularly interested in exploring the interplay between cultural heritage and contemporary art, while also advocating for international cultural exchange.
