汤大尧近期的绘画映射着他过往的周遭。他选择了日常的片刻,意外与冲突在此上演,将情感的暗涌深藏于画面内部。这种私人的个体情感回应着与群体的共振,他汲取着微不足道的一瞬,如此薄弱却又有韧性;他目睹着窘境、惊惧和未知,却选择将尖锐的现实带入圆滑戏谑的造型中封存;他既包裹这些危险和荆棘,同时也允许它们作为一种现实而直面。他主动的选择了那些被忽略和被遗忘的,它们贴切于他的生活和知觉,也在我们共同经历的日子中一遍又一遍的面临着。于是我们能看到汤大尧的绘画以一种颇显温和的方式向外溢出。他既没有借由情感的惯性去借题发挥,也没有让主体兀自揭晓,而是有选择的将他的日子隐在绘画之中。这里允许现实发生,但不提供最终的答案,只留下恒常的日子与周而复始的面对。

Tang Dayao's recent paintings reflect the surroundings of his past. He selects moments from everyday life, where accidents and conflicts are staged, hiding the undercurrents of emotion within the canvas. This private individual emotion resonates with the collective, as he draws from insignificant moments that are so fragile yet resilient. He witnesses dilemmas, fears, and the unknown, choosing to encapsulate the sharp reality into smooth and playful forms; he wraps these dangers and thorns, while also allowing them to confront as a reality. He actively chooses the neglected and forgotten, which are pertinent to his life and perception, and are repeatedly faced in the days we all experience. Thus, we can see Tang Dayao's paintings overflowing outwards in a rather gentle manner. He neither exploits the inertia of emotion for elaboration nor lets the subject reveal itself alone, but selectively hides his days within the paintings. Here, reality is allowed to happen, but no final answers are provided, leaving only the constant days and the cyclical confrontation.

现实驱使着他在时间中拖行,直面着生活的浮尘,他没有与冲突和解,也没有剧烈抵抗,偶然有光越过浮尘时,漫舞的尘埃犹如生活溢出的冗杂,被他用画作为无声的叙事。







“我还是想回到具体的事和日常里去构造叙事。”汤大尧没有选择用磕绊的碎片组合,让不顺滑拼接出所谓的余味悠长,而是在作品中以切身向真实内部前行。







这种私人的个体情感同样回应着与群体的共振。因此,我们当然要说汤大尧的绘画映照着我们熟知的微不足道的日常。在现实庞然而结实的压力下,个体如此薄弱却又如此有韧性。画布中的人物想要躲避却又无法挣脱,桎梏在局促的空间之中。




在《雨夜来客》中,少年望向突如其来的陌生人,对方将身份隐藏在军绿色雨衣下,似乎裹挟着弥散的压力,而裸露的怪异双脚暗示着所有人——这可能是一位不速之客。我们目睹着窘境、惊惧和未知,这些细微的情感如同雨丝,但汤大尧并没有在这种尴尬面前悄然转身,而是选择将尖锐的现实带入圆滑戏谑的造型中封存,甚至成为一种趣味——他既包裹这些危险和荆棘,同时也允许他们作为一种现实而直面。








在汤大尧的近年作品中,阳台作为时常出现的内容,回应着那段普遍居家的时间。它是叙事发生的空间,也安置着线条和造型。它连接内外,让此时的生活衔接着彼时的世界。它就像我们向外界伸出窥探的那部分私密心理空间,同样也是从公共议题中向个体退回的通道。艺术家以大面积的色块分割出绘画与现实之间的空隙,让色彩自然地随着直觉扎根。

About Artist





汤大尧1984年生于湖南省,2006年毕业于广州美术学院油画系第五工作室,现工作生活于广州。汤大尧的绘画以知识与生活构成其双重经验基础,同时也调用着艺术史的资源,在作品中投射着自己的心理体验与感触,冷静而克制地传递出目光与经验之间的距离。其近年的作品逐渐回归对于现实题材的处理,回到具体的事和日常里去构造叙事,以一种颇显温和的方式向外溢出。

Tang Dayaoborn in Hunan province in 1984. Graduated from Oil Painting Department of the No.5 Studio, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2006, Currently living and working in Guangzhou. Tang Dayao’s paintings base on his double experience of knowledge and life. Meanwhile, he makes use of the resources of art history to project his own psychological experience and feelings in the works, calmly and restraintly conveying the distance between the eye and the experience. His recent works have gradually returned to the handling of realistic themes, returning to specific things and the everyday to construct narratives. Thus, we can see Tang Dayao’s paintings overflow in a rather gentle manner.
