Down in the big construction site,
这是一个热火朝天的工地现场，
The tough trucks work with all their might
工程车们甩着胳膊干着活，
To build a building, make a road,
盖大高楼，修大马路，
To get the job done--load by load!
反正就是给你把活干好，干漂亮！
The sun has set, the work is done;
夕阳西下，工程车们结束了辛劳一天的工作，
It's time for trucks to end their fun.
正是要回去休息的时候了。
So one by one they'll go to bed
于是他们一个个儿地打着哈欠准备上床睡觉了，
To yawn and rest their sleepy heads,
然后养足精神，
Then wake up to another day
Of rough-and-tough construction play!
明天继续加劲儿地干！
【吊车】
Working hard to help his team.
吊车可是工程车队里的小骨干。
Crane Truck raises one last beam.
他吊起最后一根梁。
Reaching, stretching, lifting high,
高高举起轻轻落下，
He swings the beam into the sky.
他摇摆着梁在空中。
He'll set it down right on its mark
他准确地落在标记位置上。
Then off to bed; it's almost dark.
然后在黑暗中进入梦乡。
He slowly folds his boom back in,
他慢慢收拢起吊杆，
And then with one last sleepy grin,
带着昏昏欲睡的微笑，
He tucks himself in nice and tight (sigh!),
舒服地蜷起身子（叹气，梦话），
Then cuddles up and says goodnight.
自言自语着晚安。
Shhh...goodnight, Crane Truck, goodnight.
嘘~晚安了，吊车，晚安。
【水泥车】
Spinning, churning all day long,
旋转，搅拌一整天，
Cement Mixer sings his whirly song.
水泥车哼着他的小曲儿。
Now (yawn!) he s weary and so dizzy,
现在他已经又困又乏了（打了个大呵欠），
From the fun that keeps him busy.
整整忙碌了一天。
With one last spin, he pours the load,
He s ready now to leave the road.
那么最后再转一转，倒出所有水泥，准备下班！
He takes a bath, gets shiny-bright,
睡前冲了个神清气爽的澡，
Pulls up his chute, turns off his light.
收起他的水泥槽，关上了车灯。
He cuts his engine, slows his drum,
关闭了引擎，慢慢停止转筒，
And dreams sweet dreams of twirly fun.
开始做起旋转的美梦来。
Shh...goodnight, Cement Mixer, goodnight.
嘘~晚安了，水泥车，晚安。
【翻斗车】
Dump Truck loves to work and haul.
翻斗车就爱干运输的活儿。
He carries loads both big...and small,
他能扛起巨重的渣土，也能运走一丁点大的小石头儿，
He moves the dirt from place to place,
他把渣土从一处运至另一处，
Then dumps it with a happy face.
然后快快乐乐地把他们倒出来。
One final load spills on the heap(crrrunch!)；
站在小山样的土堆上，翻斗车完成最后一倒（哗啦啦！）；
Now Dump Truck's tired and wants to sleep.
现在呢，翻斗车累了该睡觉了。
He lowers his bed, locks his gate,
他低下身来，关上门，
Rests his wheels; it's getting late.
放松放松轮子，天色很晚了。
He dims his lights, then shuts his doors,
调暗灯光，锁好车，
And soon his engine slows to snores.
不一会就进入沉沉的梦香打起呼噜来了。
Shh...goodnight, Dump Truck, goodnight.
嘘~晚安了，翻斗车，晚安。
HEY! PIPE DOWN!
喂，小点声收工了！
【推土车】
Pushing with his mighty blade,
推着他有力的铲子，
Bulldozer works to smooth the grade.
推土车把地面推平。
He clears the way to level ground,
他清理出道路，
And fills the air with thunderous sound (rooaaar!).
发出轰隆隆的怒吼声（嗷！）。
No one's as tough and strong as he,
没人比他更强壮了，
But now he's sleepy as can be.
然而现在他可是困极了。
He puffs some smoke out of his stack,
他冒出一缕烟，退出土堆，
Turns off his engine, stop his track.
关闭引擎，停止前进。
He curls into his soft dirt bed
他蜷缩进他柔软的土床里，
And dreams of busy days ahead.
开始做起忙碌的梦来。
Shh...goodnight, Bulldozer, goodnight.
嘘~晚安了，推土车，晚安。
【挖掘车】
Scooping gravel, dirt, and sand,
挖出石头、土、沙子，
Excavator shapes the land.
挖掘车给地面修整成一块块地。
He digs and lifts throughout the day (arrgh!),
这一整天他都在挖挖挖，
But now it's time to end his play.
可是现在他该停一停了。
A few more holes to dig and soon
再挖那么几个洞，
He'll roll to bed beneath the moon.
他就要上床睡觉，沐浴在月光之下了。
He twirls upon his bumpy track,
他在坑坑洼洼的路上转了个身，
Pulls up his boom, stretches his back.
拉起挖掘杆，伸了伸懒腰。
He sets his scoop down on the ground
把挖掘铲搭地上，
And snuggles up without a sound.
然后就偎在那里不出声儿了。
Shh...goodnight, Excavator, goodnight.
嘘~晚安了，挖掘车，晚安。
These big, big trucks, so tough and loud,
这些个大个子们，硬汉们，大嗓门儿们，
They work so hard, so rough, and proud.
他们勤奋地工作，艰苦却自豪。
Tomorrow is another day,
明天又是新的一天了，
Another chance to work and play.
明天继续工作。
Turn off your engines, step your tracks,
关上引擎，停下脚步，
Relax your wheels, your stacks, and backs.
放松轮子，工程车小伙伴们。
No more huffing and puffing, team;
别再气喘吁吁；
It's time to rest your heads and dream.
是时候该放松你们的大脑做个好梦了。
Construction site, all tucked in tight.
空况的工地，都进入梦乡。
The day is done, turn off the light.
一天结束了，灯光熄灭了。
Great work today! Now...shh...goodnight.
今天干的真棒！现在嘛......嘘~~晚~安~

Over in the meadow，In the sand in the sun,
草地上，阳光下的沙地上，
Lived an old mother toadie and her little toadie on.
住着蟾蜍妈妈和她的宝宝。
“Wink！” said the mother,
“眨眨眼！”妈妈说，
“I wink！” said the one,
“我眨眨眼！”蟾蜍宝宝说，
So they winked and they blinked In the sand in the sun.
于是，它们在阳光下的沙地上眨着眼睛。
Over in the meadow，Where the stream runs blue,
草地上， 流淌着蓝色的河流，
Lived an old mother fish And her little fishes two.
住着鱼妈妈和两条鱼宝宝。
“Swim！” said the mother,
“游吧！”妈妈说，
“We swim！” said the two,
“我们游泳！”两条小鱼说，
So they swam and they leaped Where the stream runs blue.
于是，它们在蓝色的溪流中游着。
Over in the meadow，In a hole in a tree,
草地上， 一个树洞里，
Lived an old mother squirrel and her little squirrels three.
住着松鼠妈妈和三只松鼠宝宝。
“Nibble！” said the mother,
“啃咬！”妈妈说，
“We nibble！” said the three,
“我们啃咬！”三只小松鼠说。
So they nibbled and they hid In the hole in the tree.
于是，它们在树洞里开心地啃东西。
Over in the meadow， In the reeds on the shore,
草地上， 在岸边的芦苇丛中，
Lived an old mother otter And her little otters four.
住着水獭妈妈和四只水獭宝宝。
“Dive！” said the mother,
“跳水！”妈妈说，
“We dive！” said the four,
“我们跳水！”四只水獭宝宝说，
So they dived and they burrowed in the reeds on the shore.
于是，它们钻进岸边的芦苇丛中。
Over in the meadow，In a snug beehive,
草地上， 在一个舒适的蜂窝里，
Lived a mother honey bee And her little bees five.
住着蜜蜂妈妈和五只小蜜蜂。
“Buzz！” said the mother,

“We buzz！” said the five,

So they buzzed and they hummed In the snug beehive.

Over in the meadow，In a nest made of sticks,

Lived a black mother crow and her little crows six.

“Caw！” said the mother,

“We caw！” said the six,

So they cawed and they called In their nest built of sticks.

Over in the meadow，Where the grass tastes like heaven,

Lived on old mother rabbit And her little rabbits seven.

"Hop！" said the mother,
“跳起来！”兔妈妈说，
"We hop！" said the seven,

So they hopped and they bounced In the green grassy heaven.

Over in the meadow， By the old mossy gate,

Lived a brown mother lizard And her little lizards eight.

"Bask！" said the mother，"

So they basked in the sun On the old mossy gate.

Over in the meadow，Where the quiet pools shine,

Lived a green mother frog And her little froggies nine.

“Croak！” said the mother,
“呱呱叫！”妈妈说，
“We croak！” said the nine,

So they croaked and they splashed Where the quiet pools shine.

Over in the meadow，in a dark little den,
在草地上， 在一个隐蔽的小洞穴里，
Lived a black mother spider And her little spiders ten.
住着一只黑色的蜘蛛妈妈和十只小蜘蛛宝宝。
“Spin！” said the mother,
“吐丝吧！”妈妈说，
“We spin！” said the ten,

So they spun lacey webs In their dark little den.

Time for bed 该睡觉了
It's time for bed, little mouse, little mouse,
睡吧睡吧，我的宝贝儿，亲爱的小耗子，
Darkness is falling all over the house.
夜幕已经降临了，笼罩你我的屋顶。
It's time for bed, little goose, little goose,
睡吧睡吧，我的宝贝儿，亲爱的小鹅鹅，
The stars are out and on the loose.
星星已经出来，闪闪散在天空里。
It's time for bed, little cat, little cat,

So snuggle in tight, that's right, like that.
紧紧地挨着我，对了，就是这样了。

Time for Lunch 午餐时间
One day, Pp was walking home from the library.
A fox was following her, but she wasn’t scared.
Pip wasn’t big or strong, but she was a clever chick.
一天，小鸡皮普从图书馆出来一路走回家
一只狐狸跟在他身后，蛋皮谱一点儿也不害怕。
皮普不高也不壮，可他很聪明。
Suddenly, the fox jumped out.
“How are you, little chick?” he said.
“I’m fine, thank you,” said Pip.
“No, you’re not,” snarled the fox.
“I’m going to eat you for my lunch.”
突然狐狸跳了出来。
“你好吗，小小鸡？”他说。
“我很好，谢谢你。”皮普平静地说。
“你不好。”狐狸恶狠狠的说。
“因为我就要把你当作午餐吃掉了。”
The fox licked his lips and opened his mouth wide.
“Wait!” shouted Pip. “You can’t eat a chick for lunch without bread.”
“Can I?” said the fox.
“No. It says so in my book,” said Pip.
狐狸舔舔嘴唇，张开了嘴巴。
“等等。”皮普叫到，“你的午餐不能没有面包而只有一只小鸡。”
“我不能吗？”狐狸问。
“不能，我的书上就是这么说的。”皮普回答。
The fox thought about this. He did like sandwiches.
“I’ll get some bread,” he said. “Wait here!”
He started to run to the farmer’s house. Then he stopped.
“You can’t trick me,” he said. “I’m taking you with me.”
狐狸想了一会儿，的确它更喜欢吃三明治。
“我去找面包。”他命令道，“你等在这儿。”
他朝着农夫的房子跑去，跑了几步，狐狸突然停住了。
他回过身说：“你可骗不了我，我要带着你一起去。”
The fox went to the farmer’s house and took some bread.
狐狸跑进农夫的房子，拿了几片面包。
“Time for lunch!” said the fox.
“Wait!” shouted Pip. “You can’t eat a chick sandwich without salt.”
“Can’t I?” said the fox.
“No. It says so in my book,” said Pip.
“午餐时间到。”狐狸高兴地说。
“等等。”皮普叫到，“没有盐你不能吃鸡肉三明治。”
“我不能吗？”狐狸问。
“当然不能，我的书里就是这么说的。”皮普说。
The fox thought about this. He did like salt on his sandwiches.
“I’ll get some salt,” he said.
狐狸想了一会儿，的确它更喜欢吃撒盐的三明治。
“我去拿点盐。他说。”
The fox took some salt form the farmer’s house.
He put it on his sandwich.
狐狸又跑到农夫的家里拿了些盐出来。
他把盐撒在她的三明治上。
“Time for lunch!” said the fox.
“Wait!” shouted Pip. “You can’t eat a chick sandwich without pepper.”
“Why not?” asked the fox.
“It says so in my book,” said Pip.
“午餐时间到。”狐狸高兴地说。
“等等。”皮普叫到，“没有胡椒你不能吃鸡肉三明治。”
“为什么不能？”狐狸问。
“我的书里就是这么说的。”皮普说。
The fox thought about this. He was very hungry, but he did want his lunch to be the best.
“I’ll get some pepper,” he said.
狐狸想了一会儿，他很饿了，但是他的确更希望他的午餐没有任何遗憾。
“好吧，我去拿些胡椒。”他说。
The fox took some pepper from the farmer’s house.
狐狸从农夫的家里拿出了胡椒。
“You need lots and lots of pepper,” said Pip. “It says so in my book.”
The fox put lots and lots of pepper on his sandwich. He licked his lips, opened his wide and...
“”你需要很多很多很多的胡椒。皮普说，“”我的书里就是这么说的。
狐狸在他的三明治上洒了很多很多的胡椒，然后他舔舔嘴唇，大大滴长了嘴巴……
He sneezed the biggest sneeze ever!
The sneeze was so big that it blew Pip up into a tree.
他打了一个有史以来最大最响的喷嚏。
这个喷嚏非常大，大的直接把皮普吹到了树上。
The sneeze was so loud that the farmer heard it.
He was very angry when he saw the fox on his farm.
这个喷嚏响的农夫都听到了。看到农场里的狐狸他非常生气。
Pip climbed down from the tree and went home.
“Did you get a good book?” asked her mum.
“Yes, very good,” said Pip.
皮普从树上爬下来，回家去了。
“你借到好书了吗？”妈妈问。
“是，我接到了非常非常好的书。”皮普答道。

"I m going to paint my house."

"I will help you,"said Cow.

"We need a ladder,"said Hen.
“我们需要一把梯子，”母鸡说。
"I will go find one.You wait here."
“我去找一个，你在这儿等着。”
Cow waited and waited.She got tired of waiting.
奶牛等呀等呀。她等得不耐烦了。
So Cow grabbed a can of paint.
于是，奶牛拿起了一罐涂料。
"This paint is as blue as the sky,"said Cow.
“这涂料的颜色和天空一样蓝，”奶牛说道，
"Blue is a good color for a house.I will use this bright blue paint."
“对于房子来说，蓝色是个不错的颜色。我要用这个天蓝色的涂料。”
And she did.
于是她也这样做了。
Along came Pig.
小猪也来了。
"Look at all the paint cans,"Pig said.
“看看这所有的涂料罐，”小猪说道。
"Hen must be painting her house.I can help her."
“母鸡一定是要粉刷她的房子。我可以帮她。”
Pig grabbed a can of paint.
小猪拿起了一罐涂料。
"This paint is as yellow as the sun,"said Pig.
“这涂料的颜色和阳光的颜色一样金黄，”小猪说道。
"Yellow is a nice color for a house.I will use this yellow paint."
“对于房子来说，黄色是个不错的颜色。我要用这个黄色的涂料。”
And he did.
于是他也这么做了。
Along came Duck.
鸭子也来了。
"Hen has lots of paint,"said Duck.
“母鸡有好多涂料，”鸭子说道,
"She must be painting her house.I will help her."
“她一定是在粉刷她的房子。我要帮她。”
Duck grabbed a paint can.
鸭子拿起了一罐涂料。
"This paint is as green as the grass,"said Duck.
“这涂料的颜色和青草一样翠绿，”鸭子说道,
"Green is a fine color for a house.I will use this green paint."
“对于房子来说绿色是个不错的颜色。我要用绿色的涂料。”
And he did.
于是，他也这么做了。
Along came Hen with a tall ladder.
母鸡带着高高的梯子回来了。
"Hello,Hen,"said Cow.
“你好啊，母鸡，”奶牛说道，
"Look at your bright blue house."
“看看你天蓝色的房子。”
"Hi,Hen!"said Pig.
“嗨，母鸡！”小猪说道。
"Look at your bright yellow house."
“看看你亮黄色的房子。”
"Good morning,Hen!"said Duck.
“早上好，母鸡！”鸭子说道，
"Look at your bright green house."
“看看你鲜绿色的房子。”
"Oh,no!"said Hen.
“哦，不！”母鸡说道。
She looked at her house.Then Hen smiled.
她看了看自己的房子，然后笑了。
"My house is as bright as a rainbow,"said Hen.
“我的房子想彩虹一样鲜艳明亮，”母鸡说道。
"But it needs a red door.I ll paint this door as red as a rose."
“但是它还需要一个红色的门。我来把门粉刷得和玫瑰一样红。”
And she did!
于是她也这么做了。
