活动回顾| Cultural Immersion Week Recap of Day Two

Today is the 2nd day of Cultural Immersion Week. Over 90 international students of IBS.BFSU went to the Beijing Confucius Temple and Imperial College for cultural experience activities.

Beijing Confucius Temple and Imperial College: The Beijing Confucius Temple was built in the sixth year of Yuan Dade (1306) and was the place where ceremonies to honor Confucius were held during the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. The Confucius Temple covers an area of more than 22,000 square meters and has a construction area of 7,400 square meters. It consists of three courtyards. From south to north along the central axis are the Teacher's Gate, Dacheng Gate, Dacheng Hall and Chongsheng Temple. There are 198 stone tables, divided into 4 groups, located on both sides of the front courtyard. The inscriptions on the stone tablets record the names, native places and military ranks of 51,624 successful candidates in the imperial examinations; they are precious materials for studying China's imperial examination system. Nowadays, young people in China usually come here to pray for their examinations, thesis and successful completion of their studies, especially around the time of the college entrance examination.

The Imperial College of Beijing was the highest educational institution and educational administrative organ established by the state during the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. The Imperial College was built in the first year of Yuan Zhida (1308), covering an area of 28,000 square meters and consisting of three courtyards. On the central axis, there are Jixian Gate, Tai Xue Gate, Glazed Archway, Bi Yong Hall, Yi Lun Hall and Jing Yi Hall. There are two halls and six main rooms, the Imperial Stele Pavilion, the Bell and Drum Pavilion, traditionally and symmetrically arranged beside the central axis. 

今天是2024秋季学期文化体验周项目的第二天,来自北京外国语大学国际商学院90余名留学生前往北京孔庙与国子监开展文化体验活。

北京孔庙与国子监：北京孔庙始建于元大德六年(1306年)，是元、明、清时期举行孔夫子祭奠仪式的地方。孔庙占地面积22000多平方米，建筑面积7400平方米，共有三个院落。沿中轴线由南至北依次为师门、大成门、大成殿、崇胜寺。有198个石桌，分为4组，分别位于前院两侧。石碑上刻有进士的姓名、籍贯和军衔共51624人; 它们是研究中国科举考试的珍贵资料。现在中国的年轻人通常会去这里祈求能够顺利通过考试、论文，祈求完成学业，尤其在高考的时间前后。

北京国子监是元、明、清三朝时期国家设立的最高教育机构和教育管理机关。国子监建于元志大元年(1308年)，占地28000平方米，有三个院落。在中轴线上，有蓟县门，太学门，琉璃牌坊，碧永殿，一伦殿和经义殿。有两个大厅和六个主要的房间，皇碑亭，钟鼓亭，传统和对称排列在中心轴线旁边。

This morning, we were honored to invite three outstanding Chinese student volunteers from International Business School to give lectures on Chinese opera masks in English and Chinese for our international students. Students got to experience painting masks and making Korean masks together. Let's take a look back at the moments from the event!
