Describe a risk you took that you thought would lead to aterrible result but ended up with a positive result
Taking a hazard can be daunting, especially when you fear a negative outcome. Years ago, as a new teacher, I faced such a peril when I had to take over a class from a seasoned teacher who was ready to quit. The parents, familiar with the school and accustomed to an experienced teacher, were skeptical of my abilities. As an introverted teacher who focused more on teaching skills than communication, I felt the weight of their expectations and feared their complaints might lead to my dismissal.
Despite myanxiety and sleepless nights, I dedicated myself to improving my teaching. I explored various methods, read extensively, and watched videos of renowned teachers to emulate their techniques. When the time came for a presentation to the parents, I was prepared but apprehensive.
To my surprise, my detailed and insightful explanation impressed the parents. They understood the key aspects of the primary stage education and their attitudes shifted. I saw their skepticism turn into approval and even received recognition for my teaching prowess. This positive outcome was a stark contrast to my initial fears.
This experience taught me a valuable lesson: taking gambles and continuously improving your skills can lead to success, even in the face of daunting expectations. It reinforced my belief in dedication and perseverance, shaping my approach to teaching and life.
I would like to share you with my experience of preparing for my presentation in the extensive reading class last term. The teacher of that class was very strict with us. She divided everyone in the class
into groups. And each groups were required to draw a topic and to make presentations in front of the class. Unfortunately, my group chose the most difficult one at that time. I was extremely nervous.
I was freaked out because I was afraid that we could be scolded in front of the class. If we if we were not prepared, well, however, I was comforted by my group mates, they said that it doesn't matter as long as we tried our best
for making it as good as we can. We actually burned the midnight oil for a couple of nights, polishing our PowerPoint slides and reciting my draft, reporting draft. And they were actually laborious things.
We were so tired. Luckily at the day of presentation, we really did a good job. The teacher thought that we were diligent and our performance of teamwork was outstanding hearing that I was extremely happy and pleased because our efforts finally pays off.

Years ago, when I was in my final year of middle school, during a hectic summer preparing for entrance exams, every student was drowning in schoolwork and tests. The school's management was like a military operation, leaving us no way to voice our opinions to the administrators. Everything we did was strictly regulated. I felt something needed to be changed.
I mustered the courage to approach the school president to express my thoughts. However, he was too busy to listen to an ordinary student. So, I wrote a letter to the school administration office. To my surprise, they paid attention and invited me for a face-to-face conversation.
Talking about how I felt about this risk, honestly, at first, I wasn’t confident and was quite nervous. Convincing school leaders to accept my proposal felt like trying to move a mountain. In China, students are expected to be obedient and respectful. Later on, I felt a great sense of achievement when my advice was accepted. In fact, they gave me encouragement and compliments, which helped build mutual understanding between students and teachers.
