Students from Grades 2-12 who are interested in goalkeeping or experienced keepers can register now for ClubFootball's Free Goalkeeping Session at ISB on Thur 21st March!
The session is open to boys and girls of all playing levels, from beginners to experienced keepers and will be taught by the club's coaching staff who have particular qualifications and expertise in keeper coaching.
The session is designed to give players a chance to try out the club's keeper coaching, with a regular Thursday course kicking off from 28th March for players keen to join. To book a place on the free session, please scan the QR code at the bottom of this message, and for more on the course, please see below.
Keepers of all levels are welcome to join the Thursdays sessions, from players new to keeping but interested in trying it out, to experience keepers playing for teams in competition.
Each session has a different theme, with topics and the group split according to the levels of the keepers attending; new keepers begin with the fundamentals of goalkeeping - ie ball-handling techniques (including different ways to catch a ball), positioning, quick reactions, shot-stopping and principles of distribution (how, when and where to pass the ball).
More experienced keepers will reinforce the fundamentals before progressing to more advanced themes like improving your aerial presence, 'making yourself big' in 1v1's, and how to play in the 'sweeper keeper' role.
All sessions re delivered in a fun and developmental atmosphere, with challenges and fun competitions throughout to keep kids engaged. Keepers receive personal feedback from their coach and keepers playing in teams are given an individual training plan which will outline their strengths and areas for improvements. For course schedules, pls see below:

Goalkeeper courses are taught by coaches with particular qualifications and experience of keeper coaching.
League Teams for Development Players
Players (outfield or keepers!) who already have the basic skills and are looking to play more than once a week can also try out for a place on a ClubFootball League Team.
Teams train midweek in either the CBD or Shunyi, and participate each Sunday in the Beijing International Junior Football League (BIJFL) in Shunyi. The league features around 100 international, local and school teams, and is played in a competitive but friendly environment. The emphasis is on development, and scores are not recorded in younger divisions. For ClubFootball teams in particular, we focus more on the long-term development of each player, and “playing in the right way" rather than short-term results.
