Students from Reception upwards can register now for ClubFootball's Autumn season of midweek and weekend football courses at BSB Sanlitun! The programme is open to boys and girls of all playing-levels; from skills courses through to teams that play regular league football!
Courses begin from 6/7th September, and kids can try out the programme with a free Open Session on Saturday 31st August.
Friday and Saturday courses are available for all, and players ready to join a team for regular league-play can try out to play for one of ClubFootball's League Teams which train midweek in the CBD and play matches every weekend in Shunyi! Brand new for Autumn 2024 is also a new Yr 2/3 ClubFootball at BSB team which trains after school at BSB on Thursdays and plays occasional friendly matches.
The programme at all levels teaches football in a fun and educational environment, using the English Football Association’s ‘4-Corner’ coaching model (more info below!). All sessions are coached by ClubFootball’s qualified full-time coaches from the UK and run on the rooftop pitch at BSB. For more details, including schedules and how to book the free session to try out the programme, pls see below.
Established in August 2001, China ClubFootball (Wanguo Qunxing Zuqiu Julebu) is Beijing's first joint venture football club and a longstanding BSB partner. 'ClubFootball' runs football programmes for children and coach education courses for teachers and coaches in Beijing and beyond.
ClubFootball's Coaching & Development Programme offers boys and girls aged 4 to 18 the perfect platform to enjoy their football and develop their game. Everyone is welcome, from beginners to advanced players, and classes are coached by ClubFootball's qualified professional coaches from the UK & Europe. Classes are held in an English-language environment (with Chinese translation on Saturdays), giving students the chance to practice their English and develop confidence in their use of the language in a fun, social situation.
ClubFootball Coaches
ClubFootball's qualified UK coaches have experience of coaching youngsters at all levels, from grassroots to elite professional club academy level in countries across the world. All are passionate about providing a developmental footballing experience and helping youngsters enjoy their football and improve their skills.
The programme is aimed at developing the whole child as well as the junior footballer in a structured but friendly and fun environment. In addition to building a passion for football and developing on-the-pitch skills and knowledge, the principles of teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership are emphasized throughout.
To create balanced sessions which develop the child as well as the footballer, ClubFootball coaches use the ‘4-Corner Model' as espoused by the English Football Association. This means that the course and each individual session is designed specifically to develop the Technical & Tactical, Physical, Psychological and Social areas. The graphic here shows the areas which will be incorporated during the course with the aim of your child's all-round holistic development, both as a footballer and as a healthy, active and confident young person.
ClubFootball follows the English FA's '4-Corner Model'
Friday and Saturday courses are managed by ClubFootball (not the school) and run from Fri 6th and Sat 7th September through to the end of November. The 31st August is an Open Session for new kids interested in Friday or Saturday to come and try the programme and meet the coaches, and for continuing kids to come along and bring friends!
New CF Thursday Yr 2/3 Team at BSB
New for Autumn, this Yr 2/3 Team is for BSB students only and is designed to allow players who already have the basic skills to train and play matches together. Training is held every Thursday at BSB after school and the team will play occasional friendly games at weekends. Players looking to try out for this team should register for the try-out session on Thursday 5th September.
League Teams for Development Players (Year 2+)
Players from Year 2 upwards who already have the basic skills and are looking to train and play matches as a team can try out for a place on a ClubFootball League Team.
Teams train midweek at Liangmaqiao and participate each Sunday in the Beijing International Junior Football League (BIJFL) in Shunyi. The league features around 100 international, local and school teams, and is played in a competitive but friendly environment. The emphasis is on development, and scores are not recorded in younger divisions. For ClubFootball teams in particular, we focus more on the long-term development of each player, and “playing in the right way" rather than short-term results.
