Coping with trade-offs in future field crop production
Submission deadline: 31 October 2025
We invite original research and opinion pieces that tackle these challenges through experimental studies, modelling approaches, or integrated frameworks. Key themes include:
Trade-offs and Synergies: Analysis of trade-offs and synergies at the crop, field, and system levels to improve resource use efficiency and sustainability.
Biophysical Yield Processes: Quantitative studies on crop yield formation, including interactions between genotypes, management practices, and the environment.
Scaling and Modelling: Multi-scale assessments of resource use and yield dynamics, from the plot level to global scales, with a focus on field crops.
Sustainable Intensification: Strategies for optimizing resource use in high- and low-input systems, including precision agriculture, ecological intensification, and climate-resilient practices.
Climate Change Impacts: Contributions addressing the impacts of climate change on trade-offs in field crop systems, particularly through crop-climate modelling or adaptation studies.
