Recently, Tungwah Wenze International School in Dongguan, Guangdong, reportedly published an internal letter online.
The letter indicates that the school is currently experiencing substantial financial losses, has no enrolled pupils, and is without a source of funding.
The board of directors has elected to initiate liquidation proceedings, which will result in the termination of the teachers' labor contracts.
Despite rumors earlier this year that the school would cease enrollment in 2024, the school has not yet issued any formal notice.
Currently, it seems that the situation has progressed even further.
A former school employee verified the authenticity of the letter and confirmed the school's closure and the resignation of the majority of the teachers.
The school has been discontinuing the acceptance of new students since January.
In September, the school advised a limited number of current students to withdraw, while the majority transferred to other institutions.
The Beijing Education Examinations Authority reported earlier this year that Nord Anglia School in Beijing, Fangshagn, had suspended the enrolment of high school students.
