A few days ago, while on duty, the immigration management police at the Urumqi Border Inspection Station discovered that a foreign student altered the year of birth on the information page, changing it from "2006" to "2000."
Although it is unclear what kind of "adult-only" venue the student was trying to enter, this student's "little trick" to instantly "become an adult" was seen through on the day of her departure back to her home country by the immigration management police.
As a result, the Urumqi Border Inspection Station imposed an administrative fine of 1,000 RMB on the foreign student in accordance with the "Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China."
Not long after, the station's immigration management police discovered another case during outbound border checks. A Chinese passenger was found with two Zambian visas on his passport, both showing signs of being tampered with. One of the Zambian visas had visible signs of alteration to its validity date.
The passenger confessed that he thought applying for a new visa was too much trouble, so he "extended" the visa himself. Interestingly, because he didn't understand the date format on Zambian visas, he mistakenly changed "20-11-2018" to "20-21-2028," effectively creating a "21st month" in 2028.
The immigration management police discovered this on the spot during the passenger's departure. The station fined him 1,000 RMB, prohibited him from leaving the country, and confiscated his passport, all in accordance with the "Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China."
