On November 23rd, Zhang Jun, Secretary General of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) attended ‘Notte Italiana’, the gala dinner hosted by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce in Beijing and delivered remarks.
Secretary General Zhang Jun stated that today's world is undergoing profound changes, with increasingly prominent instability and uncertainty in the international situation, constant geopolitical conflicts, and spreading unilateralism and protectionism. He emphasised that, in the face of common challenges, Asia and Europe should work together to revitalise multilateralism, safeguard the international system with the United Nations as the core, improve the global governance system, implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and create a better future for future generations. Secretary General noted that China and Asia have shown good development prospects, and that this could open up new space for mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between Asia and Europe.
Secretary General Zhang Jun said that the Boao Forum for Asia is focusing on Asia with a global outlook, and that the BFA actively promotes unity and mutual trust among Asian countries and enhances the level of regional economic integration. At the same time, the Forum pays close attention to the global agenda, vigorously promotes green & high-quality development and actively respond to global challenges. He welcomed Italian entrepreneurs to actively participate in the 2025 Annual Conference of the BFA, to be held from March 25 to 28 next year, to carry out dialogues and exchanges with representatives of various countries, explore new impetus for development, and promote regional economic integration and sustainable development.
During the event, Secretary General Zhang Jun had cordial and friendly exchanges with H.E. Massimo Ambrosetti, Italian Ambassador to China, Mr. Lorenzo Riccardi, President of China-Italy Chamber of Commerce and the heads of participating Italian companies.
