On October 22, Secretary General Zhang Jun visited the headquarters of vivo, a Corporate Board Member and Strategic Partner of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), and strengthened the ties of the duo with Mr. Hu Baishan, Executive Vice President & COO of vivo.
Zhang learned about the development story of vivo and observed closely the manufacturing process at vivo industrial park. The SG applauded vivo’s pioneering and innovative entrepreneurship, stressing that innovation is the source and driving force of development. He spoke highly of vivo’s continuous efforts in the exploration of STI frontiers, as well as promotion of R&D and its application in building a national brand known for its innovation spirit, adding that vivo’s global vision, green development ideal, and fulfillment of social responsibilities have been impressive and inspiring.
The SG noted that amid the profound changes of the world and along with scientific and technological revolution, strides in areas such as AI, information, biology, and materials bring tremendous opportunities, nonetheless multiple challenges for the humanity. In capturing new trends and leveraging new opportunities against new challenges, BFA attaches great importance to STI, and pursues enhanced cooperation and improved governance to expedite the development of the region and beyond by tapping its advantages through intensified efforts.
Zhang indicated that preparation for the Annual Conference 2025 of Boao Forum for Asia has received strong support from all sides. The Secretariat will enhance the planning and design of the Annual Conference to amplify the role of BFA in promoting development and cooperation in Asia and addressing global challenges through joint efforts of all stakeholders. Zhang called for vivo’s input to the Annual Conference with its breakthroughs in innovation and successful experiences to inspire more cooperation in STI.
Hu introduced the development of the company, stressing that vivo highly values the rewarding cooperation with BFA which brings vivo broader horizon and progressive ideas. He confirmed vivo’s continued support and deeper involvement in BFA Annual Conference in a view to promote exchanges and cooperation in the field of STI.
Zhang and Hu later on witnessed the Signing Ceremony of Strategic Partner for Annual Conference 2025 that sees vivo renew its close ties with BFA.
