Zhang congratulated Wang on his new position and asked the latter to convey his cordial regards to Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh, BFA Board Director and SABIC CEO and Executive Member of the Board, and appreciation to SABIC for its long-stand unfaltering support for BFA.
The SG reiterated BFA’s commitment to its mission of promoting cooperation and charting the course with a global vision as well as the Asian responsibility. He noted that in facilitating collective and inclusive development through cooperation of mutual benefit, BFA strives to build a world and regional economic structure that is accessible by all, and an inclusive economic globalization that is universally beneficial to all. Zhang indicated that in order to fulfill these missions, the BFA Annual Conference 2025 will delve into global agenda of key issues with significant impact including regional economic integration, energy transition, green development, climate change, artificial intelligence, etc., and seek broad consensus in promoting the development and cooperation in Asia as well as addressing global challenges.
Zhang welcomed Gulf countries including Saudi Arabia to BFA events in joint efforts to promote sustainable development of the world. He explained that during Annual Conference 2025, BFA will hold a number of events with Partners regarding prevention and control of desertification, green development, etc., and make sure that relevant consensus is transformed into cooperation and tangible results for the goodness of Partners.
Wang briefed on the latest development of SABIC. He commended the important role of Boao Forum for Asia in promoting public-private dialogues and regional cooperation as a high-profile platform for exchanges and cooperation over the years, adding that SABIC shares the same vision with BFA in its devotion to clean energy and sustainable development. Wang emphasized that SABIC attaches great importance to its cooperation with BFA, and is prepared to engage deeper in BFA’s development with consistent support, with a view to exploring opportunities deriving from China’s growth and contribute to inclusive development.
