On November 19, Surakiart Sathirathai, member of Boao Forum for Asia Council of Advisors and former Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Thailand, stated at the opening ceremony of the Youth Summit Hong Kong Conference that the world is undergoing profound changes and fueled by demographic, environmental, technological, educational and geopolitical disruptions. He encouraged young people to take on great responsibilities, embrace the concept of lifelong learning, drive new technological innovations, and acquire new skills to actively respond to various challenges and crises. Young people should play the role of future leaders, seize opportunities brought by new quality productivity, promote the transition to a green economy, and strive to build a safer, healthier, and more prosperous planet. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening dialogue and cooperation among youth to advance the building of a global community of shared future and to shape a better and more sustainable future together.
