On November 19, Dame Jenny Shipley, member of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Council of Advisors and former Prime Minister of New Zealand, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the Youth Summit Hong Kong Conference. She highlighted that climate change and artificial intelligence (AI) are two of the most critical issues in the world today. She urged young people to fully leverage technological advancements, particularly the empowerment brought by AI, to actively tackle global challenges and solve worldwide issues. She called on young people to respect cultural diversity, facilitate communication, dialogue, and cooperation, and improve economic development and lives of people. She also noted that BFA serves as a bridge linking Asia and the rest of the world and provides a sound platform for the younger generation to speak with their voices. BFA will join hands with youth to advance the realization of a sustainable future for the humankind.
