On November 4th, H.E. Mr. Zhang Jun, Secretary General of the Boao Forum for Asia, met with H.E. Mr. Márton Ugrósdy, Deputy Secretary of State of Hungary.
Mr. Zhang Jun introduced the development history and current work priorities of the BFA, and stated that the Forum will continue to regard economic development as its primary direction, focus on Asia with a global outlook, and encourage all parties to strengthen cooperation in sustainable development, work together to meet global challenges, and build an open world economy.
Secretary General Zhang commended the Hungarian government's long-term commitment to multilateralism, promoting international dialogue and cooperation, and maintaining global peace, especially the important role it played during its Presidency at the United Nations General Assembly and the rotating Presidency of the European Union. Mr. Zhang Jun added that the BFA looks forward to further strengthening cooperation with Hungary, jointly adhering to multilateralism, cooperating to meet challenges and promoting creation of an international environment for peaceful development. Secretary General expressed his hope for jointly seeking open development, strengthening the Asia-Europe dialogue and cooperation, improving the level of interconnectedness, achieving win-win cooperation and jointly accelerating the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. He highlighted that representatives of the Hungarian government and business community are welcome to actively participate in the 2025 Annual Conference of the Forum.
Mr. Márton Ugrósdy expressed appreciation for the important role played by the Boao Forum for Asia in promoting cooperation in Asian development and the global economy, and noted that Hungary attaches great importance to the status of the Forum and is willing to continue encouraging high-level political and business representatives to attend the BFA events. At the same time, it is willing to cooperate more closely to play the role of a bridge between Asia and Europe, and continuously improve the level of dialogue and cooperation between the two sides to jointly address global challenges.
