This is a simple but meaningful table, which displays the average numbers of major durable consumer goods owned by each hundred residents at the end of the year from 2014 to 2023 in China. To be specific, the number of air conditioners increased most significantly, from 75.2 to 145.9. Meanwhile, the numbers of washing machines and refrigerators showed the similar trend, from 83.7 and 85.5 to 98.2 and 103.4 respectively.
Such changes, apparently, can be associated with the economic boom and prosperity of China recently. Admittedly, compared with the past years, an increasing number of Chinese families enjoy a richer life and they possess extra income to purchase various household appliances, such as TV sets, air conditioners, washing machines and fridges. This phenomenon is particularly worth attention for the reason that it is people's diligence that enables them to create a better and happier life for themselves. A case in point is my family. All my family members work hard every day, which brings us wealth, inspires our passion for the promising future, and help us enjoy happiness.
As a youngster, I am convinced that materialistic wealth is merely a part of our happy life and society as a whole is supposed to foster a positive atmosphere to educate and encourage citizens to read more books for the purpose of acquiring the mental wealth.
