坚定中华文化立场，生动讲述中国故事

这次我有幸参与了学校读书节特色活动之一“英语讲中国故事”比赛，感觉收获颇多。活动要求围绕中国元素展开创作，比赛初始，我考虑到要用英语的形式表达主题，既要有中西方文化的差异，也要包含共性，所以对选题进行了反复筛选，最后决定用中国文化中极具代表性的人物孙悟空进行创作。该角色精彩的成长经历，独特的个性如何用英语表达，我也动了一番脑筋。比如有这样一句介绍，中文注释为：他机智勇敢，忍辱负重，有情有义。我用英语表达：He is the symbol of affection and faith, wisdom and courage, persisting though suffering and shame.这样兼顾了准确性和英语的韵脚。通过合理地解读角色，除了能起文化共鸣，也赋予了角色新的时代意义。这次的读书节中别具一格的活动，除了让大家能更感性地了解到我们的传统文化，同时，也增强了我们的民族自信和文化自信。

I had the honor to participate in the “the Stories of China Retold in English” competition, one of the special activities of the school reading festival, and I felt I gained a lot. The activity requires the creation of Chinese elements. At the beginning of the competition, I considered that the theme should be expressed in English, which should not only have the differences between Chinese and Western cultures, but also contain commonalities. So I repeatedly selected the topic, and finally decided to use Sun Wukong, a very representative figure in Chinese culture, to create. The character has a wonderful growth experience. I took great efforts to conceive how to express the unique personality in English. For example, there is such an introduction, the Chinese version is: 他机智勇敢，忍辱负重，有情有义。I express it in English: He is the symbol of affection and faith, wisdom and courage, persisting though suffering and shame. This balances accuracy with English rhyming. Through reasonable interpretation of the role, in addition to cultural resonance. It also gives the role a new era significance. The unique activities in this reading festival not only allow everyone to have a more perceptual understanding of our traditional culture, but also enhance our national confidence and cultural confidence.              

这次的比赛十分有意义。在我们寻找资料并准备这次的演讲时，我们看到了许多丰富及经典的故事。看到莫高窟、张骞与丝绸之路的渊源，我们的眼前一亮。绚烂的风景，深厚的人文，无不让我们体验到中国文化与西方文化所碰撞出的艳丽火花。最让我们记忆深刻的是张骞虽身处水深火热之中，但他仍然不失汉节，怀着赤子之心，坚持完成了皇上的任务，他的坚毅令我们深感敬意。当他最后开通了亚欧之间的丝绸之路，我们的心中有着油然而生的骄傲。

丝绸之路促进了世界经济的发展，不仅仅是中国文化遗产，更是全人类的共同骄傲。作为“东方的哥伦布”，我们也将在学习中坚持学习他那坚持到底的精神，在成长之路上书写属于自己的华丽篇章。  

This competition of telling the Chinese Stories is very meaningful and indelible for me and my sister because through the course of searching for the story and preparing for the competition, I learnt the beautiful scenes of Dunhuang Mogao caves and the perseverance from Zhangqian.

Which impressed me most is that when I was searching for the story of Zhangqian, I found a lot of history books recording his insistence, including after he was released from the prison for ten years, he never forgot the task of getting touch with Yuezhi giving by the emperor. And finally they successfully get in touch with Yuezhi and created the silk road which is still a meaningful and important link between Asia and European countries

The silk road promoted the economic development among countries and the transportation cooperation. And I will learn from Zhangqian persevering in my study!

我很荣幸能在这次比赛中获奖。通过分享“打铁花”这项迷人的艺术，让我有机会展示这种传统工艺的美和意义。我要感谢老师们的指导。这次经历加深了我对中国文化的热爱，我希望能有更多的人一起欣赏和分享我们丰富的传统。让我们一起把这些中国传统文化的精彩故事传承下去。

I am really honored to receive the prize in this competition. Sharing the captivating art of “Datiehua” allowed me to express the beauty and significance of this traditional craft. I would like to thank my teachers for their guidance. This experience has deepened my love for Chinese culture, and I hope to inspire others to appreciate and share our rich traditions. Let’s continue to pass on these wonderful stories of traditional Chinese culture together.
