PhD in Business - Marketing, Organization and Leadership
截止时间:25年2月1日
A PhD in Business prepares candidates for careers in academic institutions, research-oriented international and national organizations, and the industry. You need to have a keen interest to do research in the area of marketing, or organization and leadership, and to contribute to new knowledge and innovation. Intended start of the position is August 2025. As a research fellow you will be part of the Marketing, Organization and Leadership Division and participate in research seminars with recognized scholars as well as take part in the social life at the Business School.
We are looking for candidates that will explore topics within one of these three areas:
"Green procurement" (workplace: Steinkjer). Beyond its role as a means of acquiring resources for public service production, public procurement serves as a powerful political instrument. Its influence extends beyond conventional expenditure considerations, aiming to not only facilitate innovation but also promote sustainable practices, often referred to as "circular procurement". The following question is interesting for the research group Public Procurement: How do suppliers respond to a public procurement policy that encourages them to explore green and innovative business models?
"Artificial Intelligence" (workplace: Bodø).
Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the public sector by improving decision-making processes, increasing operational efficiency, and enhancing communication between public agencies and citizens. At the same time, AI in the public sector can create challenges related to inclusion, services, job performance, and management. The following question is of interest to the research group Digital Management and Marketing: How can the public sector effectively integrate AI technologies while ensuring equitable services for all, supporting employee performance, and effectively managing and controlling a hybrid workforce consisting of both humans and digital agents
"Sustainable tourism and experiences" (workplace: Bodø).
A focus on sustainable development is necessary when tourism businesses aim to further develop and create new experience products. New solutions and thus innovations for sustainability are required. The following question is of interest to the research group Marketing, Management and Innovation of Experiences (MMIE): How can technology (e.g., digital experiences, AI, digital twins) contribute to regenerative tourism?'
"Emergency management" (workplace: Bodø).
Emergency management emphasizes how professionals work to help communities and organizations prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from disasters. Decision-making, communication and understanding of how to exercise these competences are increasingly critical due to the evolving and rapidly changing nature of crises. Simulator-based learning has proven to be an effective method for training and exercises for emergency managers and security specialists. There is a pressing need for research in crisis communication, decision-making and exercises, particularly when it involves collaboration within and between organizations and the integration of technology and AI.
Participate in a structured program with doctoral courses, article writing, and scientific conferences and seminars

Be employed for 4 years, and 25% of the time you will perform work tasks at the Business School such as teaching, supervision, planning and conducting seminars and so on

At least 90 credits should be within a subject area that is relevant for the doctoral project. Candidates who complete in the spring of 2025 are encouraged to apply.
Good grades from the master’s degree (normally grade B or better both on average and on the master’s thesis)
