• China will extend visa-free entry to citizens from nine additional countries, the foreign ministry said on Friday.
• Starting Nov. 30, nationals from the nine countries below will be allowed to enter China without a visa:
- Bulgaria
- Romania
- Croatia
- Montenegro
- North Macedonia
- Malta
- Estonia
- Latvia
- Japan
• In addition, China has decided to optimize its entry policy simultaneously, including exchange visits as the reason for visa-free stay, and extend the visa-free stay period from the current 15 days to 30 days.
• Starting from November 30, 2024, holders of ordinary passports from 38 visa-free countries, including the above nine countries, can enter China without a visa for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchange visits, and transit for no more than 30 days. Those who do not meet the visa exemption requirements are still required to obtain a visa to China before entering the country.
• The policy will be in effect through December 31, 2025.
