除了来自高三年级同学们的喜讯，10月，实外国际部高二年级的同学们也在国际竞赛中传来了好消息。

在近期结束的2024英国高级数学竞赛（UKMT Senior Mathematical Challenge，简称SMC）中，同学们取得了令人瞩目的成绩：实外国际部获得3枚全球金奖&1学校荣誉奖，1枚全球银奖，1枚全球铜奖。恭喜各位获奖同学！

Beyond the exciting university admissions from senior students, our junior students in Grade 11 also brought back excellent news in October. In the recently concluded 2024 UKMT Senior Mathematical Challenge (SMC), our students achieved impressive results: three global Gold Awards & one School Honor Award, one global Silver Award, and one global Bronze Award. Congratulations to all the award-winning students!

如果说有一件贯穿10月的大事，那么一定是实外国际部第五届学生会的换届选举工作。

经过近一个月紧张的竞选与角逐，由艺体部、学习部、活动部、传媒部、秘书部五个部门构成的第五届实外国际部学生会团队正式形成，期待与同学们一起创造一个更具活力的国际部学生社区！

If there’s one major event throughout October, it would be the election for the 5th Student Union at the International Department. After nearly a month of spirited campaigning, the new Student Union team, with departments in Arts & Sports, Academic, Activities, Media, and Secretarial, has officially formed. We look forward to working together to create an even more vibrant community!

10月初，以“金秋十月，旷野人生”为主题的校园环创大赛圆满结束，3个年级6个班级的同学们，充分发挥自己的想象力，紧扣大赛主题，通过废物利用、手工制作等方法，在教室里创造出了一个个梦幻空间。

At the start of October, the campus design competition themed “Golden October, Boundless Life” concluded successfully. Students from six classes across three grades showcased their creativity by using recycled materials and crafts to transform classrooms into dream-like spaces that aligned with the competition theme.

为丰富同学们的校园生活、开阔眼界，10月的实外国际部举行了精彩纷呈的校内外活动。

在升学方面，本月，学校邀请到了ASDAN的活动官，为对商科有兴趣的同学们介绍了ASDAN商赛、IEO国际经济奥林匹克等商科活动，为丰富同学们的升学履历赋能。

同时，招生官进校活动在本月也在持续进行中：加拿大英属哥伦比亚大学大学招生官来到实外国际部，为同学们介绍了这所QS世界排名第34名、加拿大排名第3名的世界著名大学。

To broaden students’ perspectives and enrich their campus lives, October brought a range of exciting activities.

In the area of admissions preparation, we invited an ASDAN activity coordinator to introduce students interested in business to competitions such as the ASDAN Business Competition and IEO International Economics Olympiad, enhancing their applications. Meanwhile, visits from university admissions officers continued this month as well. 

The officer from the University of British Columbia, ranked 34th globally and 3rd in Canada, came to introduce this renowned university.

在月底，实外国际部“微光公益”村镇社区儿童发展服务公益计划再度启航。

G10的11名志愿者同学利用周末时间，前往彭州参与了关爱留守儿童主题公益活动。

志愿者们精心准备了英语启蒙、声乐基础、趣味舞蹈、创意手工等活动项目，在给乡村留守儿童带去温暖陪伴的同时，也让他们在欢声笑语中收获了知识、开阔了眼界。

At the end of the month, the “Glimmer of Light” rural community children’s public welfare service initiative started up once again.

Eleven Grade 10 volunteers spent their weekend in Pengzhou, engaging in activities themed around caring for left-behind children.

They prepared English basics, vocal music, fun dance, and creative crafts, bringing warmth and knowledge to the children and helping broaden their horizons in a joyful atmosphere.
