什么是街头艺术？街头艺术是一种颠覆性艺术。也就是说，它是一种以其颠覆性价值为基本价值的艺术。颠覆性，也就是我所说的街头艺术的颠覆性价值，是一种通过以狂欢的方式占有公共空间，挑战企业的可见性制度，即那些规范现代城市可见性的社会规范的能力。一方面，它的颠覆性使街头艺术有别于官方公共艺术，另一方面，涂鸦又是街头艺术的核心。得益于其颠覆性的价值，街头艺术起到了抵制的作用，尤其是抵制新自由主义城市中占主导地位的公共空间商品化。街头艺术将城市景观变成了有争议的空间，同时也为自由表达开垦了城市的可见表面。街头艺术不仅仅是将艺术引入公共空间。相反，它是一种开垦城市的创造性尝试--哪怕只是暂时的。
