The area around Universal is set to see
more development with the coming of the new “Wanli entertainment
complex”, according to Beijing Daily. Set to open in the latter half of
next year, the complex will be split into three sections: Wangfujing
Welltown, set to be the largest outlet commercial space in Beijing with
plans to house over 500 brands; the Nuolan Hotel, whose infinity pool
will have views of Universal’s light shows; and Tingyun Micro-resort
Town, which will feature things like an art museum and other cultural
facilities.
Testing on Beijing’s central heating is
underway in preparation for the 2024-2025 heating season, according to
Beijing Daily. Once testing is complete, the heating is normally turned
on in mid-November, generally Nov 15, although if temperatures drop low
enough it could be turned on earlier. Last year, the heating was turned
on eight days earlier than planned.
