Receding Gums
牙龈萎缩
Recession or gum recession to be more exact, refers to a decline in the gums. As opposed to gum recession caused by periodontitis, gum reduction resulting from recession is not caused by inflammation.
萎缩，或更确切地说，牙龈萎缩，是指牙龈退缩。与牙周炎牙龈萎缩不同，萎缩引起的牙龈退缩不是由炎症引起的。
There are many causes of recession.

If the recession occurs locally only on one tooth, the cause is usually a tooth misalignment, as can be seen here with an upper incisor.
