Light painting Spectrum Circles, by Rob&Nick Carter
The Carters Transforming series exemplifies the seamless fusion oftraditional art and modern technology.Byemploying digital animation tobring iconic paintings, drawings, and photographs to life, the Cartersingeniously transform these historical artworks. This use of cutting-edge,computer-generated imagery not only re-engages audiences withclassical art but also encourages prolonged contemplation, addressingthe modern challenge of brief art viewing times in museums. The Spectrum Circles series further highlights the Carters' exploration oftechnology in art. These light paintings, created in complete darknesswith light shone onto revolving light-sensitive paper, produce mesmer-izing concentric circles of color. This process is a direct application ofscientific principles, utilizing light and motion to generate visual art. Painting Reflecting Element series,by SHEN Wei
Oil on linen, is a part of the Reflecting Element series of 8 paintings. The Reflecting Element series was completed in my studio in Paris between 2019 and 2022. Yes, the painting from China's Northern Song Dynasty has been continuously influencing my creations and thoughts over these years, both in terms of content and form. At the same time, I happened to be reading Dante's Divine Comedy. Unexpectedly, the world was also undergoing major changes and facing the challenges of the pandemic. You could say this is my macro perspective on history and human development. All of these are reflected in this series of works.
