The ITB China 2024 International Tourism Trade Fair was held from May 27 to 29 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, featuring over 600 tourism organisations and companies from over 80 countries and regions. As an important participant and partner of ITB, the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency and representatives from the Turkish tourism industry—including Turkish Airlines and numerous Turkish exhibitors—attended the event to engage buyers and tourism industry experts to introduce and discuss business growth in the Chinese market.
土耳其旅游促进和发展局(TGA)总经理İsmail Bütün专程来华参加此次ITB活动,与众多参展商、买家、媒体、观众就土耳其旅游市场现状及发展规划等进行了深入交流。开幕当天,土耳其驻上海总领事馆总领事Hüseyin Emre Engin莅临TGA展位,希望进一步促进中土在旅游业方向的合作。
İsmail Bütün, General Manager of the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), travelled to China for the ITB event. During his visit, he engaged in in-depth discussions with numerous exhibitors, buyers, media, and attendees about the Turkish tourism market, its current status, and plans. On the opening day, HÜSEYİN EMRE ENGİN, Consul General of the Consulate General of Türkiye in Shanghai, visited TGA’s booth, hoping to further promote cooperation between China and Türkiye in the tourism industry.

ITB China is a B2B tourism trade fair dedicated to the Chinese tourism market. This three-day event focused on facilitating more efficient exchanges and cooperation between China's tourism industry and international markets. The 2024 edition of the fair featured over 1,000 high-quality buyers, 13 new tourist destinations, and several first-time exhibitors, marking a 60% increase in scale compared to 2023. The successful hosting of the event highlighted the immense potential within the Chinese tourism market.
土耳其作为全球五大旅游目的地之一,积极参与本届展会。数据显示,随着出境团队游开通,赴土耳其旅游的中国游客数量大幅增加。2023年,共有248119名中国游客到访土耳其。仅今年第一季度,土耳其就已接待中国游客77451人次,同比增长148%,成绩斐然。
Türkiye, as one of the top five global tourism destinations, actively participated in this fair. Data shows a significant increase in Chinese tourists travelling to Türkiye following the opening of outbound group tours. In 2023, a total of 248,119 Chinese tourists visited Türkiye. In the first quarter of this year alone, Türkiye has already welcomed 77,451 Chinese tourists, representing a 148% year-on-year increase, achieving remarkable results.

İsmail Bütün stated that China has always been a crucial market for Türkiye. TGA has developed a unique market plan specifically for China to enhance Chinese consumers' understanding of Türkiye's diverse destinations and travel experiences. The leading brand, GoTürkiye, is highly active on popular Chinese social media platforms such as Douyin, Weibo, and Red, garnering widespread attention. A GoTürkiye WeChat mini-program will soon be launched, allowing Chinese tourists to more directly and conveniently access the latest travel routes and information about Türkiye via the WeChat platform.
除此以外,土耳其不断优化签证政策、深化与航空公司合作、推广当地导游学习中文等举措,为中国游客提供了顺畅、便捷、丰富的旅游体验。
Additionally, Türkiye continues to optimise its visa policies, deepen cooperation with airlines, and promote Chinese learning by local tour guides, among other measures, to provide Chinese tourists with a smooth, convenient, and rich travel experience.
此次ITB展会恰逢土耳其美食周,参展人员可以品尝到各种土耳其当地小吃、甜点、土耳其咖啡和茶,感受土耳其美食的热情好客和魅力。
The ITB event coincided with Turkish Cuisine Week. At the exhibition, attendees could sample a variety of local Turkish snacks, desserts, and Turkish coffee and tea, experiencing the warm hospitality and charm of Turkish cuisine.
土耳其驻上海领事馆总领事Hüseyin Emre Engin也出席了此次活动,视察了展会并与多家参展商进行了友好交流,展现了土耳其对中国旅游业积极的合作态度。
Hüseyin Emre Engin, Consul General of Türkiye in Shanghai, also attended the event, inspecting the exhibition and engaging in friendly exchanges with several exhibitors, demonstrating Türkiye's positive, cooperative attitude towards the Chinese tourism industry.
