As a large-scale system integrator, ASML focuses on extensive outsourcing and integration of its supply chain. Approximately 90% of the manufacturing cost price is accounted for by purchased goods. On top of that, there is a large non-product related (NPR) supplier spend to keep the business running. Therefore, high-level flexibility must be built into the supplier network. The Strategic Sourcing & Procurement department creates, maintains and qualifies this global network and is responsible for all supplier interactions. This challenging Procurement position reflects the dynamics of ASML and high spending responsibility.
You will be working in the ‘Non-Product Related’ Procurement department, in the logistics cluster which forms a team of 6 procurement colleagues, reporting to a group category manager.
With the growth of the company and continuously evolving business and compliance requirements, supplier segmentation becomes more important. Hence supplier segmentation is an important aspect of the procurement strategy and dictates the way we need to engage with our suppliers. There are multiple theoretical frameworks known about supplier segmentation, the one currently in use at NPR is due for an update and critical review. For this assignment, you will review and advise on the best supplier segmentation strategy for the NPR supply base.
You will:
Review what supplier segmentation models are available;
Evaluate what the best supplier segmentation model and strategy is for the NPR department;
Provide a recommendation to the NPR leadership team on segmentation strategy and rollout;
Roll out and implement a new supplier segmentation model in the NPR department ;
Learn and work along with the logistics procurement team within the NPR department.
The start date of this internship is as soon as possible with a start in February 2025 at the latest.
To be a perfect fit for this assignment, you:
Have an educational background in Supply Chain Management or something related;
Are a bachelor / HBO student looking for a graduation project or a master student looking for an apprentice internship;
Have a great affinity with Sourcing and the Logistics domain;
Possess great stakeholder management skills and thrive in a dynamic and networking environment;
Are a professional communicator in English;
Are available for a minimum of 5 months, 4 days per week (3 days on-site).
Other requirements you need to meet:
You are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship;
You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, please include in your CV/motivation letter your willingness to relocate.
