作为歌德开放空间的入选项目，2024年盘上海快闪艺术驻地「鸡同鸭讲 Bridging Babel」今天正式启动了！短短7天的时间，艺术家将在密集的驻地创作中碰撞出怎样的火花？8月4日晚7点，欢迎光临驻地开放日活动，来看看艺术家的实验成果！
PAN Shanghai's 2024 flash residency「鸡同鸭讲 Bridging Babel」kicks off today as part of the Goethe Open Space initiative in Shanghai. With great excitement, we will open the doors of our working space to share the results of this year's flash residency experiment with the world. To witness what our artists have created, please join us for our Open House at 7pm on August 4th.

盘上海的年度快闪艺术驻地计划是一个研究型的作品孵化平台。今年我们的研究课题是多语言的艺术。
PAN Shanghai flash residencies are structured as research incubation projects. This year, our research topic is multilingualism in art.
语言和我们的世界观之间有着深刻而直观的联系。作为最直接的跨文化接触，语言对我们就从可持续发展到遗产保护等重大全球问题的思考有着深远的影响，萌发出各种截然不同的方法和理解。在人类与技术的关系日新月异的今天，多语言的话语体系又将因此产生怎样的变化？在跨文化工作时，我们如何为理解上的根本差异提供空间？当人们的沟通能力受到严重限制时，他们如何共同努力实现一个目标？
There are deep and intuitive links between language and our worldviews. Language is the most direct cross-cultural encounter, leading to drastically different approaches to and understandings of major global issues, from sustainability to heritage preservation. How does our relationship with technology change the discourse around multilingualism? How do we give space for fundamental differences in understanding when working across cultures? How do we work together towards a goal when our communicative abilities are severely limited?
今年的驻地计划，我们邀请创作者直面在不同语言之间工作的诸多困难与启发。我们聚集了12位拥有不同语言身份的艺术家，包括聋人艺术家，使用方言的中国艺术家，以及来自不同语言背景的国际艺术家，通过7天的密集驻地创作，孵化新的作品和想法。
In this year’s flash residency, we challenge creators to confront head-on the many difficulties and inspirations of working between languages. Focusing on both process and theme, twelve artists of different linguistic identities, from deaf artists to Chinese artists who relate to a specific dialect to foreign artists from diverse backgrounds, come together over seven intensive days to incubate new works related to the theme of multilingualism.
