PAN Shanghai is a cross-cultural and interdisciplinary arts group. Since 2019, we have held four artist residencies to support artists, inspiring and incubating new works in very different natural and human environments. 2023年，我们对艺术孵化的形式进行了新的探索和拓展。这一年，我们举办了第一次以“写作”为核心的驻地创作修旅，为两部戏剧作品的发展组织了创作工作坊，还策划了一场快闪艺术实验。
In the Year of the Rabbit, our 5th year of existence, we decided to do things differently. Instead of our annual flash residency, we explored different forms for how we create and support artistic work. We held our first writing retreat, organized creative workshops for the development of two theatrical productions, and held an experimental pop-up art event.

写作修旅创作工作坊
2023年10月，我们召集了10位艺术家，在黄山石际村的络石舍艺术空间进行了为期3天的写作修旅创作工作坊。在修旅活动的最后，创作者们分享了几天内创作的新作品，包括新剧本的片段，原创音乐作品，以及沉浸式的特定场域体验等。
In October of 2023, we gathered 10 artists from around China for 3 days of writing workshops culminating in a sharing of new pieces. The creations ranged from scenes of new plays to original musical compositions to immersive site-specific experiences.

A Good Year 一岁三餐
2023年，我们与编剧导演许鸿昌及其团队合作，支持他的最新国语-粤语剧作《一岁三餐》的发展。作品的表演设计融合了一顿现场制作的粤式家庭晚餐，力图表现一个家庭中的两代人在历史经验与当下体验之间的脱节。11月，主创团队在音乐、美食和戏剧讨论中完成了舞台朗读和第一阶段的创作工作坊。
Throughout the last year, we worked with Playwright and Director Xu Hongchang and his team to develop his new bilingual Cantonese-Mandarin play A Good Year. The play uses a live Cantonese meal to reflect on the disconnect between generations around their experience of history and the modern world. We culminated in a workshop reading with music, food, and a discussion of the play.

牡丹亭·离魂记
2023年6月，盘上海与北京歌德学院和虫二剧场合作，举办了由2020年盘上海驻地艺术家张诺然执导、编剧栩然创作的剧本《牡丹亭·离魂记》的公共读剧工作坊。工作坊汇集了22位素人女性，在主创团队的带领下以不同表演方式演绎和体验杜丽娘的离魂困境和还魂抉择。
Last summer PAN Shanghai partnered with the Goethe Institute in Beijing and Boundless Theatre to produce a public workshop on an original adaptation of Poeny Pavilion by Xuran directed by 2020 PAN resident artist Zhang Nuoran. The workshop brought together 13 women from the community to collectively perform the role of Du Liniang in different scenes, culminating in a poignant reflection on women in contemporary Chinese society in comparison to the past.

占领电梯 快闪艺术实验
7位曾经参与过盘上海驻地计划的艺术家回到我们开始的地方，M50创意园，进行了一场全新的艺术实验。我们占领了M50园区6号楼的工业电梯，创造了一系列互动装置和沉浸式表演。这是盘上海第五年的生日派对，也是我们携手走向未知新征途的仪式。
To wrap up our year of experiments, 7 PAN resident artists returned to the scene of our first ever residency, M50. We took over a freight elevator and created an immersive installation and performance to celebrate our 5th year and jumping into the unknown.
