Ph.D. and M.S. Positions at Illinois State University: Insect Ecology, Conservation, and Biodiversity:
I am seeking Ph.D. and/or M.S. students to join the Clem Insect Ecology Lab at Illinois State University (Bloomington-Normal, IL) with a start date of Summer or Fall 2025. If you have a passion for entomology, the Clem Lab could be an excellent fit for you!
The primary focus of my lab is to examine questions related to the ecology, conservation, and biodiversity of beneficial insects, with an emphasis on hover flies (Syrphidae) and other predators/pollinators. I am particularly interested in projects related to the long-distance migration of insects, community/population ecology in agroecosystems, and innovative uses of entomological collections data. Students will have the opportunity to engage in ongoing projects within the lab, develop their own research, or pursue a combination of both. Responsibilities include collaborating with members of the lab, presenting findings at professional conferences, and publishing results in-peer reviewed journals.
We are committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive research environment where all members feel welcomed and supported. Applicants from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply, particularly those from underrepresented groups in science.
