Machine Learning, data-driven, and hardware-in-the-loop applications for stability analysis of transmission systems
Submission DeadLine: 31 March 2025
Motivate by these challenges, the objective of this special issue is to callect ML and data-driven and HIL methods and applications that could help demonstrate that is possible to support in the technical development of power grids and innovate on how bulk power systems are operated today and in the upcomming years. Based on the above, the topics of interest of this special issue include, but are not limited to:
Big data analytics for advanced measurement infrastructure of transmission systems
- Data handling, storage, visualization and constrains of wide area monitoring systems (WAMS)
- Online methods and applications for identification of oscillatory characteristics
- Quantification and estimation of inertia based on synchrophasor measurements.
- Methods for calibrating the parameters of the power system model using synchrophasor measurements
- Interaction between humans and EMS taking into account the application of big data analyses
Machine learning and Data-driven applications for enhancing the security of carbon-neutral power grids
- Stability constraints: Static and dynamic security assessment
- Automated systems for detecting and classifying events from WAMS measurements
- Virtual inertia provision for power networks with high DERs penetration
- Data-driven performance indices and applications for improving situational awareness in carbon-neutral power grids
- Coherency identification based on power system measurements
- Graph structural analysis for clustering and strategic allocation of the center of inertia (COI).
Real-time applications based on hardware in the loop
- Prototyping and design of real-time demonstrations
- Hardware-in-the-Loop extensions: Power, and Controller HIL
- Co-simulation and multi-set simulations

International Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems的CAR指数
