In order to complete its team, the Center for Comparative, European and International Law (CDCEI) of the Faculty of Law, Criminal Sciences and Public Administration is advertising two graduate assistant positions for Professor Viret.
Job related information
Start date: April 1, 2025 or as agreed
Contract duration: 1 year, renewable 2 x 2 years, maximum 5 years
Activity rate: 80%
Workplace: Lausanne Dorigny
Your activities
50% of the activity rate dedicated to the completion of a doctoral thesis;
50% of the activity rate at most devoted to assistance (support for teaching tasks, supervision of students and research).
Your profile
Master of Laws or other degree giving access to registration for a doctorate in law at the University of Lausanne ( Doctorate in Law - UNIL Law School ); obtained before taking up office.
Strong motivation for research and writing a thesis on one of the research themes of the chair in sports law:
- Regulation of international sport, in particular in matters of integrity (anti-doping, safeguarding) or in matters of gender;
- Role of evidence and scientific expertise in sports policies and sports litigation;
- Interface between sport and human rights.
Writing, analysis and synthesis skills; autonomy, ability to solve problems.
Interest in developing within an interdisciplinary research framework.
Excellent knowledge of English (including writing). Fluency in French and knowledge of German (understanding of legal German) are assets.
Additional assets: Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Swiss law, prior research experience, practical experience (lawyer's certificate or experience in sports organizations), project management/event organization experience.
