Dear Y1 students,
We cordially invite you to the IoT Sharing at SIP on 25th September. It is an excellent chance to communicate with Dr. Yuji Dong, the Director of Research and PGRS at School of Internet of Things, to realize some cutting-edge technologies into practical projects.
Topic: How does AI move from cyber world to physical world?
Abstract:The field of generative AI is burgeoning, with the potential to reshape industries through its power to generate new content and ideas. Yet, most existing AI, such as ChatGPT, operates primarily as a language model, functioning within the digital confines of a chat interface. For AI to induce a more profound societal shift, it must move beyond the virtual and integrate into the physical world, where it can interact with and influence our environment directly. The Internet of Things (IoT) is instrumental in facilitating this transition, providing a network of devices that can be orchestrated by AI to enhance real-world applications. A critical question arises: How do we effectively integrate AI into IoT to bridge the gap between the digital and physical realms? This talk will delve into the challenges and opportunities of merging AI with IoT, examining the pathways that will enable AI to transition from the cyber world to the physical world, and discuss the implications of this convergence for our future.
