    The construction industry is experiencing a digital revolution, with emerging technologies reshaping traditional practices and opening new frontiers in project execution and management. This digital transformation, encompassing artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Building Information Modeling (BIM), robotics, and advanced data analytics, promises to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability in construction projects. As the industry evolves, there is an urgent need to understand and effectively manage these digital technologies to create smart synergies that drive innovation and improve outcomes.

    While the potential of digital technologies in construction is immense, their integration and management present significant challenges. These include resistance to change, skills gaps, interoperability issues, data security concerns, and the need for substantial initial investments. Moreover, the rapid pace of technological advancement requires continuous adaptation and learning. This special collection aims to address these challenges by exploring innovative approaches to managing and integrating digital technologies in construction, with a focus on creating synergies that maximize their collective impact.
    The primary purpose of this topical collection is to provide a comprehensive exploration of the digital frontier in construction technology management. By bringing together diverse perspectives and experiences, we aim to: a) investigate strategies for creating synergies between various digital technologies in construction projects, b) explore innovative approaches to digital technology integration and management in the construction industry, c) examine the impact of digital synergies on project efficiency, sustainability, and overall performance, d) identify best practices for overcoming barriers to digital adoption and creating a tech-savvy construction workforce, and e) discuss the broader implications of digital transformation on the future of the construction industry.
