On December 17, the National Immigration Administration of China announced a comprehensive expansion and optimization of the country’s transit visa-free policy. Effective immediately, the allowed stay period for foreign nationals transiting through China without a visa has been extended from the previous 72 or 144 hours to 240 hours (10 days). Additionally, 21 new entry and exit ports have been added to the list of eligible transit points, and the areas where foreign nationals can stay and travel have been significantly expanded.
