10月31日上午，以“全球气候变化下的生态挑战与疾病防控策略”为主题的第74期“巅峰对话”（Top Talk）在清华大学生物医学馆E109报告厅圆满举行。
本期活动荣幸邀请到了清华大学万科公共卫生与健康学院卓越访问教授Nils Christian Stenseth教授作为主讲嘉宾、清华大学万科公共卫生与健康学院许磊副教授作为对话嘉宾。
Stenseth教授主要从三个维度进行了深入探讨：鼠疫的多学科探讨、个人研究之旅以及对年轻科学家的建议。
On the morning of October 31st, the 74th Top Talk with the theme of “Ecological Challenges and Disease Prevention and Control Strategies under Global Climate Change” was successfully held in the E109 Lecture Hall of the Biomedical Sciences Building of Tsinghua University.
We are honored to have Professor. Nils Christian Stenseth, Distinguished Visiting Professor, Vanke School of Public Health, Tsinghua University, as the keynote speaker, and Associate Professor.Xu Lei, Vanke School of Public Health, Tsinghua University, as the guest speaker.
Prof. Stenseth provided insights into three main dimensions: a multidisciplinary exploration of plague, a personal research journey, and advice for young scientists.

Stenseth教授讨论了鼠疫耶尔森氏菌的传播机制和历史影响，并详细描述了三次全球鼠疫大流行的发生。还为同学们介绍了Synergy-Plague项目，这是一个旨在揭开瘟疫爆发背后环境、生物和社会因素的跨学科努力成果。
Professor Stenseth discussed the transmission mechanisms and historical impact of Yersinia pestis, detailed the three global plague pandemics, and introduced the Synergy-Plague project, an interdisciplinary effort to uncover the environmental, biological, and social factors behind plague outbreaks.

Stenseth教授分享了研究兴趣的起源、从人口动态研究转向对鼠疫时空传播机制的兴趣以及国际合作与数据收集和科研网络的建立。
Sharing his transition from studying population dynamics to focusing on the spatiotemporal spread of plague, Professor Stenseth recounted his experiences with international collaboration, data collection leading to publications in prestigious journals, and the establishment of scientific networks, including the founding of CEES.

Advice to Young Scientists
Stenseth教授向年轻学者提供了指导，强调了创造独特研究方向、保持高标准和平衡风险的重要性，以及跨学科合作对于职业规划和长期科学成功的重要性。
Professor Stenseth offered guidance to young scholars, emphasizing the importance of creating unique research directions, maintaining high standards and balancing risky, and the significance of interdisciplinary collaboration for career planning and long-term scientific success.
许磊副教授
讲座内容
许磊副教授在讲座中介绍了伍连德先生在中国抗击1910年东北大鼠疫中的关键作用。伍连德通过科学方法首次确认肺鼠疫，他提出隔离患者和封锁疫区的防疫措施，有效控制了疫情。
为防止疫情蔓延，伍连德建议焚烧尸体，并说服清政府批准。1911年，伍连德促成“国际鼠疫防治大会”，提升中国医学国际地位，为中国公共卫生建设奠定基础。
许磊副教授强调，伍连德推动建立哈尔滨传染病医院，推广现代防疫网络，为中国现代医疗和公共卫生制度的建立作出了重大贡献。许磊副教授呼吁向这位抗疫先驱致敬。
In his lecture, Associate Professor Xu Lei introduced Mr. Wooliand's key role in China's fight against the 1910 Great Plague in Northeast China. Mr. Wulinde recognized pneumonic plague for the first time through scientific methods, and proposed preventive measures to isolate the patients and blockade the infected area, which effectively controlled the epidemic.
In order to prevent the spread of the epidemic, Wulinde suggested burning corpses, which was eventually approved by the Qing government, and in 1911, Wulinde facilitated the “International Conference on the Prevention and Control of the Plague”, which elevated the international status of Chinese medicine and laid the foundation for the construction of China's public health.
Associate Professor Xu Lei emphasized that Wu Liande contributed to the establishment of the Harbin Infectious Disease Hospital and the promotion of the modern epidemic prevention network, which made a significant contribution to the establishment of China's modern medical and public health system. Associate Professor Xu Lei called for a tribute to this pioneer in the fight against epidemics.

在教授们演讲结束后，学生挑战团就气候如何影响人类健康以及如何讲好一个科研故事等问题进行提问，两位教授也依次做出了解答。
After the professors' presentations, the Student Challenge Group asked questions about how climate affects human health and how to tell a good research story, and the two professors responded in turn.
