数据科学与分析学域主任、教授
Dr. Xiaowen CHU received his B.Eng. degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University, Beijing, P. R. China, in 1999, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2003. He is currently a Professor at the Data Science and Analytics Thrust, Information Hub of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). He has been working at the Department of Computer Science, Hong Kong Baptist University during 2003-2021. He is a senior member of IEEE and a member of ACM. He is a vice-chairman of the Blockchain Technical Committee of China Institute of Communications. His current research interests include GPU Computing, Distributed Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, and Wireless Networks. He is especially interested in the modelling, parallel algorithm design, application optimization, and energy efficiency of GPU computing.

Dr. Yongqi ZHANG is an Assistant Professor in the Thrust of Data Science and Analytics at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) since July 2024. Prior to this, he worked as a Research Scientist at the AI listed-company 4Paradigm. He completed his doctoral degree in 2020 in the Department of Computer Science at HKUST, and obtained a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2015. Under this background, Dr. Zhang has extensive academic and industry experience, as well as collaborations with partners. His main research interests include machine learning on relational graphs, reasoning with large language models, and interdisciplinary research in fields such as biomedicine. He has published 20 high-quality papers, including several first-author papers in influential journals such as Nature Computational Science, TPAMI, and VLDB-Journal, as well as presentations at top-tier conferences such as NeurIPS, KDD, WebConf and ACL.

数据科学与分析学域助理教授
Dr. Zishuo DING is currently an assistant professor in the Thrust of Data Science and Analytics at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). Prior to this, He received his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo in 2024.
His research primarily focuses on leveraging intelligent approaches (e.g., ML/DL/LLMs) to enhance various software engineering tasks. Specifically, his interests are twofold:
1) Optimizing natural language processing techniques for software engineering and
2) Software performance engineering for large-scale systems.
His work has been published in flagship conferences and journals including ICSE, FSE, ASE, TOSEM, and EMSE, and recognized with the ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award at ICSE 2020.
