The ISSI 2024 Special session "Long-Term Creep Life Prediction in honor of Prof. Rolf Sandström", initiated by Prof. Shan-Tung Tu and organized by Dr. Jun-Jing He, was successfully held in Dongguan, China from November 5th to 8th, 2024. This hybrid event brought together experts and scholars from around the globe to discuss key issues in long-term creep life prediction, covering experiments, mechanisms, and models related to material behavior under environmental and loading interactions. Discussions included Prof. Rolf Sandström's foundamental theoretical creep model; and the models proposed by Prof. Shan-Tung Tu's team for extrapolating and predicting 100,000-hour creep life from 3,000-hour data.
