会议将组织国际著名GIS、遥感和摄影测量学者的主题报告Keynotes、13个工作组Working Groups论坛会议、UPINLBS和FOSS4G两个联合大会的会议、4个专题培训Tutorials、系列科技和实地考察等一系列为期5天的会议活动。
会场位于珀斯的Fremantle市，珀斯是全球第5宜居城市，出口澳大利亚一半以上的铁矿、石油和金矿；Fremantle市是世界文化遗产，也是包括中国科考船去往南极中山站前停靠的唯一补给港，以及世界各国开展南极考察科学活动停靠的最后一个补给港。
