About the position
The ERC project HoFGA (The Hardness of Finding Good Algorithms), led by Bruno Loff, is looking to hire a PhD student in the field of Computational Complexity. The position will start in March 2025, with some flexibility for earlier or later dates. Here are the key details:

Location: Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon.
Project: The HoFGA project focuses on Computational Complexity and will have a team of 3-6 people.
Salary: MSc research assistant level, with funding from the HoFGA project.
Teaching Duties: You will be expected to TA for the course Computational Complexity, with the possibility of additional teaching hours for extra pay if desired.
Additional Opportunities: The Computational Complexity Conference will be held in Lisbon in 2026, providing valuable exposure to the field.
Requirements
Degree: MSc in Mathematics or Computer Science, with an emphasis on areas like Discrete Mathematics, Combinatorics, Convex Optimization, or Theoretical Computer Science.
