Scientific Advances for Understanding, Predicting, and Managing Harmful Algal Blooms
The management of Harmful Algae Blooms (HABs) is a wicked environmental problem affecting freshwater and coastal waters globally. HABs management requires both deep knowledge of phytoplankton ecology, as well as broad understanding of the multifaceted physical, chemical, and biological drivers and impacts of blooms in the environment and society. This special issue seeks original contributions related to the understanding, prediction, and management of HABs in freshwater and coastal environments. In line with the journal’s scope, all papers submitted to the journal must show a specific link to environmental management applications.
