Special issue information:
Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has been gaining visibility in the field of analytical chemistry. Its advantages are remarkable, including minimal or no sample preparation, the ability to perform rapid qualitative analysis, in situ and remote monitoring, and the capacity for quantitative determinations using various univariate and multivariate strategies, including calibration-free approaches.
The applications of LIBS in analytical chemistry are highly diverse, ranging from soil and food analysis to environmental monitoring and bacterial identification. This special issue aims to highlight the state of the art in LIBS, with a particular focus on its use in challenging applications, such as microplastics detection, food, soil and fertilizer analysis, waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), and industrial real-time monitoring. Additionally, special attention will be given to data fusion and the collaboration of LIBS with other instrumental analytical techniques. The main goal is to attract high-quality manuscripts from researchers around the world.
