Girl's Varsity Basketball Regular Season Review

Throughout the season, the girls' team persevered through rigorous daily training to perform their in-game best. This year, the team achieved a record high of winning 9 games and losing 1. Coming into the season, the team was worried as the previous seniors had left a dent in the foundation of the team, but with resilience and the addition of new members, the team strived, nonetheless.

With this year's school spirit reform, the home gym provided a positive supportive atmosphere that contributed to the team's winning fare. There were times when progress had to be made and there were times when these achievements were celebrated. Basketball is a learn-as-you-go game, and the players are thankful for the lessons they were taught both on and off the court.

The girls will be going to the play-offs, let's wish them the best of luck with their semi-finals and (fingers-crossed!) finals.

To the school, students, the boys’ basketball team, and especially Coach Mel, we as a team would like to thank you. Without your constant support, we wouldn’t have the drive to perform our best.

Thank you to our school for providing the daily training opportunities we were given to improve as a team. And especially to the crowd that shows up to every home game and makes a large racket to ‘scare off’ the opponents, we as a team feel especially motivated knowing you all are there to support us.

Thank you to the boys’ team that provides unconditional support and advice. We greatly appreciate the cheers and the immense help with scorekeeping. We will try our best to bring back the championship trophy on behalf of you guys too.

And especially Coach Mel. Thank you for the past couple of years, coaching us and even becoming a role model for all of us. Your endless optimism makes the game easier, encouraging us to become confident, independent young women. Thank you for dealing with us year-round daily, we wouldn’t be here without you.
